The charm of Europe is due to the blood, sweat and tears of those "evil old white men" they claim to despise.

Without the works of slave owners, Christians, warmongers, the Catholic Church and all those who the Left claim to despise, Europe would be as interesting as a trip to Dollywood.

Americans love living lives without cars in dense urban areas until they get married, have kids, and want a place with a backyard

The charm is that they are generally small dense and walkable, and the larger cities tend to have excellent public transpo. The other charming quality is the preservation of old architecture. We have a tendency here to bulldoze old things and replace it with something containing less character.
They do have strip malls and big box stores, but they’re generally on the outskirts where tourists don’t often see.

Walmart in Galveston is like the United Nations when the cruise ships are in port. Easy to spot the Eastern Europeans. They have a look of complete shock on their faces. They dont have any comprehension of box stores or shopping centers.

That keep the shite people out of the city centers. No beggars, thugs and riff raff in any of the Italian cities I visited.
Cops and military police are very visible. Especially in Rome.
If they could curb graffiti those cities would be perfect.

I find that all the charm can be found in the fact that you can sit in your car at a train stop without getting brutally murdered by two piece of shite thugs that are wanna be rappers.

But that’s just me

There are ugly "strip mall" and Big Box areas in most euro cities of any size. Europe has big box retail chains that aren't US based. But most tourists stick to the charming parts of town.

Modern architecture is the charm. Go to a nice city like Dresden. It seems like the oldest buildings there were built in the 50s.

The charm is because the places are ancient compared to America

When we lived in Scotland we were a quick drive away from Cawdor caslte that was built in the 1400s

You just don't have stuff that old here

Meh.

Probably has something to do with the history.

European cities lose a lot of their charm when you take a wrong turn and end up in little Mogadishu

European cities have been around a bit longer than American cities.

Town squares. I love them in Europe. Every American city should have had one.

Savannah is a pretty cool city with their square parks all over the city. Makes for great walking.

No. Its history, architecture, and culture (including food, music, etc.).

Most Americans actually have families and are productive. Nobody wants waste time in a grocery store daily if they don't have to. The Europeans that actually have enough space to store food don't shop daily.

You dont see the big box stores but they are there just not in the small portion of the old city center you typically visit as a tourist. Germany has Globus, REAL, and Kaufland France has Intermarche Carrefour and LeClerc to name a few. They have Home Depot and Lowes equivalents too.
