I haven’t seen a TV commercial yet for anything related to Thanksgiving, its like let’s just get this holiday over with so you can spend more money on xmas. I still celebrate it and all but its not the same Thanksgiving when I was growing up in the 70’s. It was a big deal back in the day, everybody in my old neighborhood would have big dinners, invite relatives, friends or anyone who wanted to get-together and we all had a good time. What happened?

Retailers really can't sell anything other than food and maybe sweaters . But I love food and I love football and there is A LOT of that on Thanksgiving weekend. So I love it a lot.

Not in my house, but absolutely as far as retail.

Yes and it pisses me off to no end. My wife convinced my 4-year-old daughter to decorate the house in Christmas decorations the day after Halloween. I’m livid, but I don’t want to crush my 4-year-old

No, it's just that other than food items, there's nothing really to commercialize.

We still celebrate with all the family gathering together. Nothing changed here.

Aside from catering what can you really do?

I know my grocery stores/radio station are selling the crap out of some catering offers. BBQ, honeybaked hams etc.

I don't think Tgiving was ever a "commercial" holiday

Nothing has changed. Dallas Cowboys & Detroit Lions games on the TV and turkey on the table.

It sounds like you and I both married the wrong woman.

My 4 year old and I were the ones putting up the decorations in my house with a pissed off wife.

Much like the native americans this holiday has been given pox ridden blankets and overridden by the white man (Christmas/Santa).

Even Halloween gets more play then Thanksgiving. It's honestly bs.

There is no real way to market it as far as making money in retail stores. No one is gonna really buy anything other than food.

And family, really isnt pushed very hard anymore either

Not in my house.

It is not a marketable holiday though. No one is buying gifts or shite like that so there’s not much to sell.

It’s up there.

Millennials are bringing it back with Friendsgiving parties all over. My iPhone even autocapitalized that. We out here.
