I got lucky, mine came free with my car for a year, and automatically expired. I didn't have to go through the cancellation. However, they did have my cell phone number somehow, and have called me literally every single day for the last two or three years. They are even using the number-spoofing tricks normally used by scammers to try and get me.

Strike 1) you have to call. Can’t do it online.

Strike 2) purposefully pass you around to various reps, managers, specialists, etc

Strike 3) they will offer a lower deal no less than 5 times before actually cancelling and will purposefully try to creat confusion to where you agree to a 6 month deal, and just when you thought you have cancelled the say “okay so we got you on the 6 month deal blah blah blah” and that’s when you come to your senses and realize you’re on a crazy train and lose your temper.

Has to be the worst right?

No ADT the absolute best. They charged us for coverage when all our power was down for weeks in Pensacola.

To Cancel you have to write a Fricking letter to the Regional office a real pain, stay a way from ADT

This is EASILY solved. AutoPay with PayPal, when you decide to cancel you just go online , access your PayPal account and delete the automatic payment to Sirius, or whomever. They'll shut that shite off when you stop paying.

Obviously if you are under contract you should wait until the contract expires to stop paying.

The only annoying deal about Sirius is the number of emails they send out a month.

Just unsubscribe.

I just change my credit card online to a different one that is expired. Auto cancel

That or just call in the card stolen and get a new one.

Yeah I had to cancel my app subscription and it was like pulling out teeth.

Their hope is that you will keep the service for a month or two longer cuz you don’t feel like dealing with the hassle.

One time years ago I accidentally signed up for some rewards card bullshite with FYE. The girl at the register didn't mention once that I had to pay for it and since I went to FYE every so often I figured it was a good deal.

Well a while later a charge for like $50 from this bullshite showed up on my account. Tried to cancel it online but I had to call them. I spent no less than 25 minutes on the phone with this dipshit that flat out refused to cancel until he finally caved in the end. Like, this dude was getting obviously distraught that I wanted to cancel and he kept trying to convince me to stay on board. I wasn't getting through to him so towards the end I just kept repeating "shut the frick up and cancel my subscription." That got the message across.

Wasn’t bad for me. I called to cancel about a month ago bc rates went way up. Sure I was on hold for a few minutes but with speaker phone, it wasnt an issue. Just keep watching porn on my phone. Of course they offer me a much lower rate which is what I wanted anyway.

I actually wanted to cancel, not lower my bill, so it’s the fricking worst for that.

I was on the phone with them for an hour, telling them no, 20 times for a discounted rate.

All i wanted 2 do was cancel the subscription for my radio, and bring over or begin a new one for the car we just bought, which came with Sirius radio.

I believe the lifetime payment was only for that radio on the account. Once it died so did your plan, i can remember a shite load of Stern fans complaining about this when their radios died.

And it's been going up, as the music industry wants more cash, and with the recent signing of new music industry protections, price will go up again.

They will eventually go down to like $4 a month if you just stay. They will do anything not to lose someone.

But when you go to cancel they give you a year for $50 so I don't see the problem

I got 6 months for maybe $20-30 as a new subscriber. I have to renew or cancel next month. They’re so bad about letting you cancel but sometimes they’ll go way past the free trial date to deactivate a radio. We bought my wife’s vehicle used and somehow there was still a free trial. Supposed to be 3 months but it was almost a year later before I noticed it not working.

I read 1,000 threads on here about how you could get like 6 months for $30 or something. On my last go-round about a year ago, I fought through multiple people, hangups/callbacks, claimed message boards have exposed their fraud, blah, blah, blah, and was grateful to eventually get like 6 months for $100. They fight like hell and I respect it.

My last two renewals, I just called and nicely said that I liked the service but found it a bit expensive. Can you do any better?

They clicked around for a few seconds and offered a year (with streaming, which I enjoy) for about $120 or $140, somewhere in there. Thank you, I'll take it.

Done. No fighting or accusations of fraud required.
