Jackson and Montgomery make Detroit (...okay...maybe not Camden) look like Cardiff.

Memphis is plenty black and technically blacker. Not only does it have more black peoples, it has a higher % of black peoples.

Memphis was the inspiration for the First 48. And that is pretty black imo.

I've only been to select venues in Detroit, never walked around the city and never really felt the urge to tbh.

..but as I type this, me and some others will actually be driving through Camden shortly.

So, if I'm never heard from again you'll know why.

Montgomery is very very black.

Memphis is 5% blacker than that.

Memphis is cool, at least. Montgomery has literally no redeeming qualities. IIRC, the top TripAdvisor recommendation is the Civil Rights Museum.

Sounds like a fun weekend, babe!!

Bruh, have you ever been to Montgomery? Memphis is Miles Davis and Montgomery is Nickleback.

Memphis, it's in Tennessee which is a much better state. All Louisiana has is New Orleans and we are arguing just how bad that is...

Fair, but Memphis might as well have split custody between Mississippi and Arkansas.

It's hard to think of a state more culturally divided than TN, except maybe PA and NY. I know you LA baws are gonna balk at that.

Weird OP...

But when it comes to black culture, in the USA, I’d put the Mardi Gras Indians up against any other black culture.

This is correct. It’s why people call it Memphrica.

Having lived in both, New Orleans and it’s not even close.

In Memphis you get culcha, which is also in Nola, but Nola also has culture.
