I've considered that as well but seems like too much hassle and you risk getting burned if even one of the companies tries to weasel out of the return for some reason.
You'd have to time it right each time, so if one company balks at the return for some reason, you now paid for two mattresses even though you only need one.

I bought a Saatva about a year ago and really like it. Its a firmer mattress than I was used to and it took 10 days or so to adjust but after that adjustment period I really like it.

The big reason I am no longer considering Purple is because I read more than just a few reviews of their customer service being terrible and returns were difficult. Their BBB is an "F", but I don't always put a lot of faith in BBB ratings.

Which one did you get? I am a side/stomach sleeper and read that it can be a little more on the firm side so I am going to most likely get the soft version they make.

If you don’t buy from Matress Mack in Houston than you should burn in hell.
Bought several from him when I lived in Katy, as well as other furniture.
I wish he had a store in NOLA or BR. Furniture/mattress stores here suck.

They aren't doing well because of all the online mattress offerings now.
These online places will ship it to you, install it, then give you a full refund after 30 days if you don't like it and pick it up and dispose of it for you.
My friend got a 6 month trial on one and had a 6 month lease in a city he was temporarily living in. He "returned" it after 5.5 months for a full refund.

Most of the ones in that store are over $1,000 each.
I look at mattress shopping kind of like car shopping. Yes, some people can buy cars online, but I kinda want to do my research online and then go try a few out. 30 seconds laying on it is to me like a 15 min test drive in a car.
The last Mattress Firm I went to, it's basically a big box with some display models, 2 employees. Not much overhead. And it takes at least a week to get your order in.

Google “Mattress Firm a fron operation - tigerdroppings” and you can read all about it.

I am still leaning towards the soft. If I don't like it I can always get the luxury firm to try after.

Yes, it’s a CIA front for smuggling heroin into white neighborhoods.

Yes actually, they actually stuff meth into the mattresses.

I went into a Mattress Direct recently at 6:00pm. The guy working there said I was his first customer that day, and they open at 10:00am. It kinda blew my mind. I cannot imagine literally doing nothing for 8hrs, especially in a giant room full of mattresses (he'd admitted to taking a nap earlier in the day).

Didn’t we have this exact thread like six months ago? Almost verbatim.

Still less often than the bi-weekly "Looking for a New Truck" thread.
