I live in AL.I consider Louisiana,Mississippi,Georgia,and Alabama the "Deep South".
I'll defer to others on whether Arkansas is included.

I'd take out Arkanasas (close though), add Georgia and South Carolina.

There's more plantations and just as much Ag in south LA as in North LA

Probably but culturally south of the I-10 / I-12 corridor is considerably different than what ppl call the deep south ( Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia ).

IMO, Louisiana does not culturally fit the Deep South.
NW LA has greater similarities to E. TX.
S. LA and NOLA have there own identities.
NE. LA tends to be more S. AR/E. MS and is the most Deep South in LA.
The Deep South should be SC, GA, AL, MS. I'd consider NC, TN, AR and LA as peripheral states today.
