Living in St Landry parish I always laugh when someone makes this statement. I can assure you we are more Cajun and southern than most who live south of I10. How many of your people can speak French? How many like and know how to smoke sausage? I am not talking about those spicy wieners y'all like. How many plantations were there around Jennings and Abbeville? How many of y'all had just about every ancestor serve in the Confederacy? Look at the early settlement of La. and you will have your answer. The south and Cajuns were centered around the Bayou Teche and the Mississippi River. Most towns west of Lafayette(Vermilion River) did not exist until the 1880's.

You sound like an a-hole. Is that the best you can do?

It is geographically, but not all of Louisiana is culturally Deep South.

I am an a-hole. So I can't argue with you on that point.

One of those is unlike the others. It's not deep unless it borders the Gulf IMO.

New orleans is deep south, Baton Rouge is slightly north but Alexandria to Shreveport is not Deep South.
Shreveport is the most "Deep South" city west of the Mississippi.

Nah. But you are Cajun of a slightly different flavor.

I'd say Welsh is more Deep South than Shreveport.

Pretty sure western TN, Memphis, etc would be considered "Deep South" by most.
Memphis actually refers to itself as the "Mid-South" FWIW. I think the Deep South stretches from Lufkin, TX to Columbia, SC.

Good point. La. is a different kind of place. Mix all the ingredients together and you make a great gumbo. As Cajuns go, you really have bayou, plantation, and prairie Cajuns. The lines overlap in many cases.
