Is Little Rock a better place to live than Baton Rouge?

I've been ready to get out of Baton Rouge for a while now, and I've applied to jobs in many places. My first job offer is for a position in Little Rock...I was interviewed in LA, however, and I've only been to Little Rock for ~24 hours about a decade ago.

For those of y'all who live or have lived there, how is it? Is it a nicer place to live than BR, or is it just another BR/Jackson/Montgomery, etc?

I've heard it has a bright future, but a lot of people say things like that about a lot of places.

What are the major pros and cons of the area?

Little Rock has the feel of a lateral move at best.

Not even close. Little Rock is way nicer than Jackson.

Downtown LR is a nice area. We've been there a couple times a year for the last 5 years. Don't know about the rest of the city, but seems like a decent place to live.

Went there last year. Drinking laws are pretty shitty. Last call was at 12:30. City as a whole looked like a shite hole.

Imagine baton rogue moved north into REAL winters. REAL tornadoes.

Arkansas gives you "hills" but that's about it. I guess think Monroe but bigger. Does Monroe have hills? Or bumps?

Had a chance to drive through on the way to Memphis. The ENTIRE state looks like you are driving through the lakes area. Meaning roads through or near Rayburn or Toledo Bend. With a little towns like Many, LA dotting the map.

Lateral move! And that's questionable.

Little Rock is a clear choice over Baton Rouge.

My dad's family is in Little Rock and my mom is from Baton Rouge.

If I had the choice, LR>BR any day of the week. It's a much better overall experience.

Stay out of North LR. It's a lot like BR. I'd suggest you live in Bryant or Maumelle.

I'm out of Stuttgart about 50 miles south. My GF lives in West Little Rock, honestly, it's a pretty nice place. Especially west Little Rock. Also don't worry about not meeting any LSU fans, we congregate at a place called Boudreaux's

Bar scene isn't that lively though

We went there for a long weekend back in August. It was nice. Pretty city. They've got a lot going on downtown. Of course, when Uncle Sam drops a big-arse presidential library there, that helps a lot. There were some nice neighborhoods with good restaurants. Traffic moved well, it wasn't crowded. Now one thing, we kind of ran out of touristy things to do after the Clinton Library, a couple of brewery tours and the Purse Museum (it was my wife's choice). But that's different if you live there.
