It seems like you just have to show ID like when you're buying the cold medicine that the meth-heads want, but IDK.
When I got it in pill form last year, it was a regular prescription, it wasn't OTC. In Louisiana, BTW.

Can you expound on this? I believe this is probably what I would like more information about.
There is a Standing order from the state health officer. It’s not officially otc.

I’ll answer for them. It’s simple. President Trump said it might be good for you so all the shills went contrary. No science. No logic. Just OMB
“OMB” also said we should inject bleach and shove fluorescent tubes up our arse. So there’s that.

I wonder why they might not sell it?
Am I close?

The subsequent surge in misinformation and use of ivermectin for COVID-19 was a new development and contrary to its established medical applications.
So, you mean it was an off-label use, just like Gabapentin, Wegovy, Propranolol, and hundreds of other FDA approved drugs are used legally off-label?

Call a pharmacy ahead to make sure they offer what you want, and they’ll let you know what you need to do. Avoid Walmarts for now.

Personally, I think it should be on the shelf in gallon jugs so people can drink it at will. Also make it available as suppositories, that way they can drink it and stick it up their asses.
Why do you hate on people who want to make personal choices for themselves?
Are you seriously that much of a bitch that you are offended people didn't want the government sponsored solution that didn't work?

But DURING covid, at the slightest hint that this drug, readily available and cheap, might, just might help fight off covid, was suddenly considered dangerous to humans, called horse paste, and physicians literally risked losing their license if they wrote prescriptions for it.

I am absolutely in favor of anyone buying it anytime, anywhere they want.
Why would anyone care or have a different opinion?

had a dermatologist prescribe a cream containing ivermectin for rosacia and it worked like a charm. Knocked it the frick out in less than a month.

I wish they’d hurry up and make this a thing.

As a pharmacist in a state that has also passed a similar bill to allow the OTC sale of Ivermectin, I can tell you that I cannot order any Ivermectin that says it is approved for OTC.
Our bill (SB189) states "TO AUTHORIZE IVERMECTIN FOR HUMAN USE TO BE SOLD WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION OR CONSULTATION WITH A 11 HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL," meaning theoretically it can be sold straight off the shelves, not even behind the counter.
The only manufactured available Ivermectin all still states on the packaging "Rx Only," which is not allowed for sale OTC--regardless of any law passed.

This creates a legal gray area:
Pharmacists in Arkansas are allowed under state law to sell ivermectin without a prescription.
But if the product’s label states “Rx only” or lacks FDA-approved OTC instructions, selling it OTC may go against federal regulations.

Personally, I don't give a shite if you want to buy it OTC and take it or not. I'm not going to gatekeep it. But there are still hurdles that haven't been addressed in regards to actually obtaining OTC Ivermectin by pharmacies. I highly doubt your pharmacist is just being a dick to you.
