Is it trashy to drive around with a check engine light?

I drive an old car and it will come on and off whenever it feels like it. The code said engine misfire.
Anyone else?

Every single thing you can think of is trashy.

Misfire is a flashing light and is very important to fix. Mine is for a bad charcoal canister. I'm not fixing that.

There are people on here that have deemed eating a toasted Pop Tart trashy. So I'm gonna go with the OT thinking "yes"?

Nobody cares that you can afford an old car
Posted on 7/9/19 at 1:43 pm to lsu xman
Only if you have passengers in the car with you.

Driving is trashy. You don't have a chauffeur?
Posted on 7/9/19 at 1:45 pm to lsu xman
Its only trashy if other people know about it.

Lol I've got multiple lights on. comes with driving a 10 year old car though

I've been driving around with check engine on for 2 years. I'm not spending $600 to replace a fricking knock sensor.

I only have a flashing tire pressure light on mine right now because one of the tire pressure sensors is bad. I found a way to disconnect the wire so it'll stay off because I'm not paying $120 to replace the sensor on a 2005 vehicle. I just gotta get around to disconnecting that wire. It's behind the glove box.

In all seriousness, I judge people pretty harshly for that. If it were just some stupid EVAP or EGR code I might be somewhat sympathetic, but "engine misfire?" You might as well hold a rehearsal dinner at Ryan's Steakhouse.

What?! That’s ridiculous.. Everyone knows that eating an UNtoasted Pop Tart is waaay more trashy than toasting them.

It is trashy to constantly use the word trashy. Most over used word on this forum next to the word baw.

quote:like all other codes, misfire could literally be caused by dozens upon dozens of minor problems.
The code said engine misfire.

My truck has 400k+ on it the check engine light has been on for at least 200k.

Are you sure the sensor is bad? You might try resetting the pressure sensors. I had that happen after getting new tires. They forgot to reset the sensors.

I have been driving around with a bad wheel speed control sensor for about 2-3 years. if my car ever decides it not going to move i will replace it.
engine missfire would have to get it fixed
