Now that weed is pretty much legal isn't it time it's no longer a felony to have a gun on your person with marijuana? I'm not saying to get high and carry a gun.
But i keep a gun in my car. Go to the dispensary and then I'm commiting a felony in theory.
Only the state of Colorado allows possesion with a gun. I can have a prescription of Oxy and have a gun and I'm fine. But a prescription of pot and then I lose my 2a rights? I think it's time we change this law.

I lost all of my guns and cannabis in a terrible floating accident.

Yeah it’s bullshite and also think is the reason the fed will never declassify marijuana. They want that gotcha if they need it.

It's always bummed me out that, if God forbid, someone needs to pull and shoot, some slapdick DA could hit them with a felony and ruin their life for testing positive having smoked a bowl 4 days prior.

No. It may be time for the federal law regarding MJ to change, but until MJ isn't a federal crime changing the gun law isn't the correct first step.

ALL FREE PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO PROTECT THEMSELVES.

In prison, can't have a gun.

That's the only reasonable restriction. Oh, and most the people in prison probably shouldn't be in prison either.

So it's ok to be high or intoxicated and carry a firearm?

Not a felony in Louisiana if it’s under 14 grams.

I would not do it in a public space like a bar, but you can bet your arse that I carry when I'm out in the mountains, and chances are that I'm going to crack a few beers or hit the pen while doing so.

Yeah, that's different.

I'm referring to public space.

It basically is legal to have a gun and marijuana in Louisiana if you have a prescription.

Illegal carrying of weapons with controlled dangerous substances prohibits the UNLAWFUL possession of a drug with a gun.
