re: Is it me, or have commercials from personal injury attorneys tripled in the last year?

My only gripe with the advertising is seemingly perfectly healthy people excitedly yelling "BOOM! ________ got me $1 million dollars!!"
If you got a million dollars, you are/were pretty jacked up.

Insurance is a racket all together. It's funny this thread came up. Just recently I slightly brushed a car that was pulling out of a parking lot in front of me that decided to slam on their brakes as they were pulling out across 3 lanes of traffic. Literally just a small scuff that wiped off. Called police and waited. The lady and I sat there bs'ing just as jolly as could be. Everything was good until cop showed up and gave us BOTH tickets. Trooper said we were both at fault (myself bc I tapped her and her for crossing directly across two lanes of traffic which he says is illegal). All hell broke lose at this point. The icing on the cake was when shaquandas wig blew off in front of everyone. At this point the cop and I both turned into racist saltines. Needless to say I received a call from insurance stating they were being sued. I told them if they pay one red cent then they are the fools. I was lietally doing 2 mph and scuffed bumpers. Not a piece of damage on either car. I'm sure insurance will just settle for a few thousand just to get it out of the way. It's such a sad thing to see people who purposely sue knowing insurance will just bow down and pay.

I have friends that practice, PI. My understanding is for routine frick ups, there are preset determinations how much they'll pay...broken leg, 50K. Finger, 10K, etc.
The real money is on the future lost wages and wrongful death aspects. Most of those other settlements are eaten up by health costs fronted by the attorney and their 33 1/3rd.
Any real money in PI is probably made for people who are severely disabled or dead.

Ah, so you admit liability?

As a result, ads are increasingly reaching for the last demographic to actually be significantly influenced by advertising - dumb people. But, without these dumb people the rest of us will get stuck paying more for entertainment, so... I guess I'm ok with it?
We know Louisiana has no shortage of borderline illiterate retards. That state has to lead the country in single digit IQs.

I think 4/5 billboards between nola and br are lawyer ads.

Did he put the Womac in you?

It's true. I know someone who gets a settlement every other year it seems. Have a lawyer that knows doctors.
Fake mri the whole nine yards.
The big guys just settle, they have no interest going to court.
Then a year after you contacted them you get paid, minus 33% and doctor fees.
The lawyer once told me that he could promise me at least $5-7k at minimum for every little fender bender.
I generally let people go if they rear end me.
Unless there is damage, but there never has been.
On the other hand. I've had cars I've owned used to collect money, but never me personally.
(Friend took my car without permission after dropping me off at airport, then was rear ended. They sued and got 10k and I got more than book value for the car)

Explain to me a fake MRI.

Never once did I not claim to be at fault. I think you are totally missing the obvious here. No problem with my insurance paying to wax the scuff off of the car. Hell I'd even do it myself. The point being, it is far too easy for people just to put in frivolous law suits. If you don't think the frivolous law suits are a big problem then you may be part of the problem. I'm not on here trying to play Internet lawyer. Just stating the obvious problem with the system, that's all.

you know, the ones they have pre-printed to show bulges at C4-5 and herniations at L5-S1. They hand them out to plaintiff attorneys at the secret meeting.

"Ed Womac/Morris Bart got me $650,000." What a fricking shitstain on society these guys are.
Had lunch with Ed yesterday, you seem upset he could buy and sell you ten times over?
See, this is an example of someone who is just an a-hole. He used this thread about the unreasonable, excessive amount of plaintiff attorney advertising to (a) make sure everyone knows he knows Ed Womac, and (b) make an ad hominem attack against the other person which had, and has, nothing to do with the topic at hand, and assumes facts with no basis. Small penis, mom stopped blowing him, whatever, he's just one of those presumably jort-wearing, double-chinned, tattoo-on-the-calf douchebags we all see at the gas station getting his 32 oz Coke who thinks he's a big deal because he knows some attorney who advertises on TV.
That being said, the TV guys make their money legally, unless they are using runners. If they're legal, more power to them. I mean, frick the "profession", it's all about me getting mine, right? The TV guys may be the nicest guys in the world, but the damage they have done to the "profession" is substantial, it's only going to get worse, and it'll never get better.
