The world is a better place knowing that the Saints and LSU have official injury attorneys.

the rest of us will get stuck paying more for entertainment

Paying more for “entertainment” is the least of my worries with this litigation culture where simple fender bender accidents take 2 years and tens of thousands of dollars to resolve.

If you don’t think this is a problem, just ask any business owner that is required to carry commercial auto insurance for their fleet. The entire state is down to about 4 insurance carriers and those are looking for a reason to bail out too.

Don’t have one, but eventually (and in the not so distant future), it will resolve itself when there isn’t a single carrier that is willing to do business in the state.

Then, the state will be forced to create some type of state-run “pool” in order to try to prevent businesses from shuttering, and that pool won’t be a lucrative golden goose for the attorneys.

conflicted about this, as a defense attorney. Those guys have put food on my family's table for a long time. I appreciate they are competing hard for their share, and I'm just as much a capitalist as the next guy. But I think we have reached a saturation point. I think this shite is bad for the legal profession, but it's even worse for society as a whole.

PI will be a thing of the past if this ever happens.

What is it about personal injury attorneys that every single one of them has the most punchable face?

It's like they were destined to be in that career from birth.

I'm not too familiar with the insurance side so anyone who knows can chime in. This is just my 2 cents. I've always heard Florida is a "no fault" insurance state. If this is the case make it to where in the case of an injury you have to claim it on your policy. I think this would make people less inclined to make fraudulent "injury" claims if they are just suing their own policy. Unfortunately though this world is full of so many shite stains that it could never be fixed fully.

No fault actually cost more to insure than fault states. Look at Michigan. They have unlimited PIP coverage and some of the highest rates in the country.

Is Michigan no-fault car insurance bill dangerous or a smart money-saver?

I've lived there and currently live in a "no-fault" insurance state, that's not exactly how it works, best thing to do is probably what your old man told you to do when you first started driving, if you get into an accident, call a cop, get a police report and let the insurance companies fight it out, in a no fault scenario you are basically trusting in the honor system, which never works, you then have to do all of the legwork that you pay insurance premiums for and it more than likely ends up in the hands of an attorney anyhow
