What? They can't decide between two GOPers, so they are going to vote for the democrat??

That makes no sense at all.

OweO has proven over and over that he's an idiot when it comes to politics. I dont know why he continues to post in these threads

I’m glad he likes Trump but he comes off as a weakling. People like Trump because he’s a huge guy that doesn’t take shite.

The state legislature would run all over Eddie Rispone.

“Eddie Rispone’s got to hope that a full-fledged media campaign is enough, that he catches fire, and voters like those spots enough that they will vote for him,” said Engster. “So far, this is a ‘get to know you’ situation and we know Eddie Rispone drives a truck, we know he’s got a Trump bumper sticker, and we know he gave money to the president.”

quote:

Abraham acknowledged Tuesday he has similar views to Rispone, but has a longer record to run on. “We certainly share a lot of the same views,” Abraham said. “The difference is just being a servant of the people. All my life, I’ve tried to be out in front.” “It appears that Ralph Abraham is the insider’s favorite,” Engster said. “He is a congressman, but Eddie Rispone has more money and the question is who finishes number two? And if number two means a runoff? Because John Bel Edwards in a runoff is vulnerable.”

Why wouldn't Rispone show up for the forum with the Sheriffs?

quote:

The other major candidate, Eddie Rispone, was invited to both events but did not attend, with his campaign citing prior commitments. Rispone, a wealthy businessman who is self-funding his campaign and is advertising heavily on TV, took criticism from Edwards for not showing up.

“I don’t know how I could say I wanted to be governor and I don’t want to go talk to the sheriffs; that I want to be governor and I don’t want to go talk to the municipal association,” Edwards said.

Abraham’s campaign strategist Lionel Rainey said he “can’t figure out why any candidate wouldn’t show up” to the morning forum. Abraham declined to comment on his absence.

A new order of bumper stickers was being delivered that day and he didn't want them left out on the porch to be stolen.

Those commercials are absolute garbage. If giving money to Trump is the only thing he can creatively come up with, then he doesn't need to be running Louisiana.

There might be people who would generally vote republican, but because they don't know which one to go with they will just stick with the incumbent.

This makes no damn sense. Might be the dumbest thing I’ve read today, which is saying ALOT considering a read through my community Facebook page earlier.

they need to plant another Dem or Ind in the race to take votes away from JBE to prevent him from getting over 50% in the primary.

If that person would make a better governor then sure.. But if you are going to plant just someone who doesn't give a shite or can't handle the position then what's the point?

Because it keeps JBE from winning without a runoff. You fund some black democrat to run and pick away support from JBE.

It’s been done plenty in LA with the jungle primary.

You don't understand how voters think. I am not saying I know all about campaign strategies, etc, but there will be people who can't decide which republican to vote for, for whatever reason so just because JBE is already in office, they will just vote for him.. Where as, if it came down either a republican or democrat, they would normally pick a republican.. Or vice versa.

Having two weaker opponents from the same party only makes them weaker individually.

You never know. The JBE team could be putting up Rispone to deflect all the die hard trump people to him. Those are votes he knows he will not get anyway, so by having one opponent that will soak up those votes with another republican out there only helps JBE. You never know when it comes to politics.

That would work in an election in which you had one dem, one GOP, you put up an independent to collect votes, and you don't need a majority to win. In this case, Rispone would be the independent.

In a race where you need 50% plus 1, that strategy makes no sense.

Guy seems ok.
Has a successful business.
He just does not tell me how he will help our state.

Why not produce a commercial that shows me problems in Louisiana and how he will help solve those problems.

JBE commercial is about his brothers or kids dogs friends cat being sheriff’s.

Not one commercial from any candidate has said anything about how to attract businesses that bring jobs to the state, work on traffic issues, or flooding issues.

Idgaf about Eddie Rispone, but if I have to hear ‘zip recruiter dot com, slash ROCK. Zip recruiter dot com, slash ROCK’, one more fricking time, I’m going to punch out my fricking windshield

Something about how he says ‘rock’ absolutely infuriates me

This is in response to a commercial I hear on 95.7 4 times an hour throughout the day

Eddie Rispone has had more threads about him on the TigerDroppings poliboard and the OT in the past month than Ralph Abraham does.

"All publicity is good publicity, as long as they spell your name right. The best publicity is well-planned and thought-out. All publicity is good if it is intelligent. The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."

And people say Rispone has no shot?
