Mine makes more than me and I'm fine with it.

More income is better. This equation isn't really complicated.

If I was so insecure that I'd turn down extra household money just to say I earn more than my wife, I'd be a sad person.

My father moved us across teh country to make my mother quit her job when she passed him in salary.

My wife makes a great living, but even when I was a grad assistant I made more $$ than her. I would love it if she made more money than me tbh.

I suspect the main friction happens when he doesn't really make enough to support the family if needed, that's kind of expected.

If he makes $300k and she makes $500k I doubt anyone would laugh at him. If he makes $20k and she makes $40k that might be a problem for some.

Anyone that says they don’t like it, is a sexist idiot. Gimme more money

wish my wife made more than me. Hell I wish I had the foresight in undergrad to go across the street to the medical school, find the plainest looking chick and knock her up. You better believe I would volunteer to be a stay at home dad while demanding the wife become a surgeon or something lucrative.

I agree with you. But you just revealed the reason most men are uncomfortable.

It's called HYPERGAMY.

Most women want a man who makes equal or more to her in pay. Meanwhile most men are okay dating regardless of finances.

The irony is that this mindset bottlenecks higher earning women.

Salary-wise, she makes a little bit more than me. After my bonus, we usually make the same or very close to it.

She teaches 1st grade, so she'd definitely be on the news if she went that route...

I need to make a little more.
But, then again I'm admittedly insecure.

I was happy when my wife made more money than me. Only thing that sucked was that she worked more than me and so it was hard on her and I didn't get to hang out with her as much as I would've liked. But the money certainly helped alleviate that issue.

If she made up to 2-3 times what I made it wouldn't bother me in the least. If she made so much more that my income was irrelevant it would bother me. I could live with it, but it would bother me.

When we got married I made a lot more than her, but she has moved up quickly, and at 35 just accepted a CEO position where she will be making OT-baller money. I'll let you know if things change, but pretty happy about it at the moment.

She can make as much as she wants in her free time when she’s not taking care of the kids, cooking, cleaning, or maintaining the household
