I have speculated about this. There were 15 in the phone book back when I counted in 2004. Not sure if that even includes Ocean Springs, Long Beach, El Paso Christiano, etc.

The stretch of US 98 between Navarre and Destin has got to be the world record holder for Waffle Houses. They seem to be literally next door to each other.

We have a new champion folks

False. FloraBama Waffle House is #1

We're going to keep having these arguments until they institute a playoff.

Waffle House is legit. There are two WH just in Port Allen. One of hwy 1 right before the intercoastal bridge & the other on LA-76. Both right next to gas stations that have areas for 18 wheelers to park in.

And with the number of 18 wheelers on the road that's a lot of business.

Waffle House in Biloxi on coast close to Hard Rock is the #2 in the country. Noticeable difference in service. #1 is in Auburn.

the one in Gulfport closest to Island View Casino might be the worst one in the country

Check out the locations map from the Waffle House website

There's over 400 Waffle Houses between Louisiana and Florida just on the Gulf Coast

Waffle House is good. Fresh food cooked in front of you at a reasonable price.
