That is why when I was doing similar work I'd make it a point to pick up all my tools by days end and take them home. It was a PITA to do so, but less trouble than going back to the job and finding I needed to head out to buy new tools.

It all changed when they eye-talians started seeing that NOLA was not a legitimate base of power and started caring less and less and started moving out.

New mayor wants inclusive zoning and brings uncertainty to the short term rental market. This makes it harder for real estate development.

Hmmm....Historically high crime city
Historically Democrat
Hipsters come in thinking their hacky sacks and music will change the ghetto culture and everyone will love each other
Hipsters vote Democrat
Democrats continue doing what Democrats do and ignore crime
Criminals keep doing criminal shite.
City continues to be shitty

Nah, i think i understand it.

Prices are going to stay high/go up in Uptown, Mid-City, Irish Channel, etc. because they're desirable areas. Prices have crashed in former gentrification hotspots St. Roch, Central City, etc. becuse they're unlivable hellholes. Now that no one wants to live there, more people are looking at already hot Uptown/Mid-City causing prices to go up.

Gentrification isn’t sustainable if your public schools are still arse.

It’s fine when you are a young professional or newly wed but once your kids are beyond day care it becomes too expensive to live in city.

Gentrification is racist

LMAO....Yea right. And so what.
This is why the "racist" word lost all meaning!
Remember the little boy who cried wolf?

Here's an idea, let all of the crap places decline until the walls fall down. That is true beauty. God forbid we make shitholes more attractive places to live.

Yeah! Let's welcome back the original 'residents' of the gentrified areas. Screw those liberals and their over spending on food and coffee!

That’s what happens when you take down the statues. We let that evil bastard get away with it and it is one of many things hurting gentrification IMO. The crime rate is out of control and whites aren’t visiting as much and are reticent to move and work there. Way to go Landridouche

I think it's more of people wanting them to wake up to reality, and realize that not everything is sunshine and unicorns. Some behave like there are no bad people and no bad areas, and then chastise life-long residents for telling them the truth
