Captain and Founder of the Krewe of Nyx

It is her krewe. She should let it fold, and let the float captains form their own, and see if they can be equally successful.

Who defines too far these days? And she doesn't have to resign does she? Is it an elected position, or since she founded the krewe is she in a position of power until she chooses not to be?

I'm with the attorney, if they want to leave, leave.

If it is an elected position and they force her out because of this, then yes, imho, that is too far.

Also, at the same time, that was probably a mistake to post that on the krewe page, unless the statement was approved by the board. Even then, probably best left on personal social media and not make it look like it was from the whole organization.

This was the straw that broke the Camels back.

As far as the post, this is like many things with people in authority. It isn’t the content of the action (in this case what the post said) but rather the lack of judgement to make the post. As the Captain of a giant Krewe, if this chick isn’t smart enough to say “I am staying the frick away from this controversy” then she has no business being their leader.

Am I insane for thinking posting “All Lives Matter” shouldn’t get people to go scorched earth in you?

ETA
I also understand that this was a last straw, but I fee like a lot of women are using this as a virtue signaling opportunity (the vocal ones at least) to claim they are stepping down because she is racist

I believe that you are the one with the reading comprehension problem, dumbazz. Here is a direct quote from the article.

quote:

In a letter signed by 27 Nyx Lieutenants, members called for Lea's resignation by 5 p.m. on Monday, June 8, and said they would resign if she didn't step down.

My wife (no pics) is friends with a few of the women who dropped out. The social media post was one thing but there were other issues as well. Apparently there were issues about where money was going. From what they said this was just the final straw.

Not really being "forced". She can say no.

To me, the difference here is she used the KREWE page to post this. Business owners / CEOs / etc need to understand that when you post controversial things on business pages, there can be repercussions. It's insane to me how many business owners don't understand that. Keep your personal opinions/thoughts on your personal page. It's not a hard concept, yet, it gets violated time and again.

Also, you have to be really f'n stupid to wade into this right now. Nyx is probably the most "mixed" ladies krewe in the city.

Most (not all) krewes are basically dictatorships.

as I said in the other thread FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!!!

there's been a LOT of other stuff brewing under the surface...

when she pays herself $125,000 a year and allegedly launders money through different accounts and sub-organizations...
