It’s just me and my tiny self, so I wouldn’t be bulk shopping often. I do know they have deals on other things too.

I would never ever sit in line for gas for 20mins to save .20
So no but the steak deals are worth it alone

The meat department is awesome so yes it’s worth it for me as a single guy. The rewards pay for my membership

No
Unless you’re in the Costco cult

We've been Costco members for years and I can't ever remember getting gas there. It's not considerably less expensive than QT or something and it's usually slammed.

the one in baton rouge is convenient enough for me to justify it

Only if it's really convenient.
They have a fantastic meat department though, and plenty of other good deals. It's not all 25 pound bags of flour.

Costco is for the BR Supper Club crowd.
Either you’re good enough to go there or you’re not.

I keep my account just for Costco travel. Best prices on rental cars I've found with extra driver and base insurance.
Great prices on hotels and vacations.
I went to the store for the first time in months last weekend. Everything I bought I've enjoyed. Creme brules with raw sugar packets you torch on have been the biggest hit in the house.
I get gas occasionally if I'm heading down Carrolton and can see no bends to the gas station line. Their pumps are quick and my tank is on the right so usually those lines are shorter.

Weren’t you JUST calling people poor, and here you are asking about Costco to get cheap gas
The irony is palpable

I got an idea. How about you do this very easy calculation yourself.

Get a membership. Pick up a vacuum sealer your first trip there. Buy wine and meat. You'll never look back.

You have to think about the gas you will burn to get there and back, plus the time in line.
Let's say it's .25 cheaper per gallon than the station 3 mins away and the Costco is an additional 10 minutes away (20 RT).
Let's also say you will wait 10 minutes in line at the Costco before you get to the pump.
Let's also say you have a 20 gallon tank, so it will be a savings of $5.
Is your time worth more than $10/hour? Because that's what the 30 minute time investment to save $5 will be worth.

I’ve heard the gas pumps in NOLA are quite the experience.

Costco gas is 4.83
Regular stations are 5 right now

It's worth it just for the hot dog and Pepsi meal alone.

I’ve never had to wait for more than 1 person in front of me.
