re: Is Costco worth it for gas alone

I don’t think I’ve ever waited for gas at Costco. Most people don’t realize you can extend the pump/handle to either side of the vehicles and the passenger side pumps are always available.
My only gripe is only being able to use a Visa card.

We've been Costco members for years and I can't ever remember getting gas there. It's not considerably less expensive than QT or something and it's usually slammed.
Same. Every time I think about it I see the line and just go somewhere else.

The costco line looks long but in my experience it goes pretty fast. I can got from 4th or 5th in line to pumping gas in less than 10 mins.
That being said I will only fill up at costco when I’m shopping at costco. I don’t see ever making a trip to just get costco gas.

You can pump on either side without blocking the middle lane

I don’t think she believed it either. They probably hear that complaint a lot.

I don't have a Costco membership. What quality of steaks do they have and for what price. Might make me reconsider.
I like Prime ribeyes from HEB. They had a couple of wagyu the other day for $45. Probably $25-$30 a lb if I were guessing on the poundage rate. Holy crap those were insanely good. Cooked to a touch past rare and they were tender as could be.
Can Costco beat those? Or do they have prime at least?

Normal NY Strips for 9.99 lb. Know this for sure.
Prime filets are $17.99 I think.
They do have a decent selection of Prime meat but I don’t buy those often so don’t know the prices exactly.
As far as quality - I refuse to buy steak at a normal grocery store anymore. Costco Strips are like 1.5-2” thick. Filets over 2”. Whole Foods might compete on quality but at twice the price.

I have a membership but don’t buy gas there because it’s inconvenient to get in and out of. I don’t buy anything there really

Costco has good meat, decent pricing on electronics. Usually good quality stuff.
I get my merino wool socks there, those are awesome.

Buy gas with a costco credit card and get 4% cash back. They send me a check for $150-$200 every year.

We buy meat and most of our non perishable household supplies from there - laundry detergent, paper towels etc. They also have good prices on tires.

Blade tenderized steaks…..no thanks

Under normal circumstances it’s about 20-30 cents cheaper per gallon, not worth going too far out of your way for unless you burn a ton of gas. At times this year I’ve saved almost 75 cents per gallon. If you go early it’s not bad, the gas stations open @ 7am.

Very high quality for the price.
It’s not the best you can get but it’s on par or better than the stuff at regular HEB and is significantly cheaper.
The filets I get at my local butcher (not a grocery store) are better quality but not by much and they are double the price of costco.

Given Costco was the charter member of the mask nazi club .... NO they are not worth it.

It’s just me and my tiny self, so I wouldn’t be bulk shopping often. I do know they have deals on other things too.
It's worth it for the Hot Dogs and eggs alone.

It's $2.90 something at the Walmart on Coursey too.

I will say the Sam's Scan & Go feature on the app is the greatest.
Scan as you drop stuff in your basket, when you are finished shopping, hit the pay button and head to the exit. They'll scan your QR code on your phone, scan a couple items in your basket and you are out the door.
