I think he should invite her to lunch, just to catch up, and let her know how beautiful she is. You know, just as a friend, trying to help her self esteem. No other motive, just to be a friend. I wouldn't tell the current gf, though, because, you know, they're all adults and whatnot.

Just casually dating the new girl? Then Id say it's fine. If you're married Id say it's time to stop commenting on the ex's.

"Beautiful"
Almost a page and no one has asked for pics?

She is right and you are wrong.

Why in the world would you think this is normal? You think YOUR comment is going to be the one to pull her out of a funk? This is absolutely idiotic to do and your current gf has every right to be upset at you being a jackass.

Should've said "As a FRIEND, JUST FRIENDS, NOTHING MORE, that's Beautiful."

So what, big whup? He'll just start dating that gorgeous 17 year old that works at Starbucks, and has been mentally undressing him every time he goes get coffee.

You are right, but it doesn't matter. You can't win this.
I have a similar situation. Ex is from the 80s and just a great friend (think Jerry and Elaine from Seinfeld), but the wife goes nuts at the mere thought of her.
The friend and I literally have no contact now because of it. Really sucks.
The irony is the two would probably get along really well and spend most of their time laughing hysterically at stories about me, but that ain't gonna happen. C'est la vie.

You’re wrong. Only a select few women you can call beautiful while in a relationship and your ex isn’t one of them

She's probably his nurse at the old folks home and he grabbed her Stan Lee style
OP, you're in your late 40s. Shouldn't you be less worried about dating and more worried about helping your family pay for your medical expenses and nursing home?

Hopefully the picture you commented on was a few years old.

I agree that’s its way more innapropriate that a 46 yr old man is on Facebook at all and especially commenting on a picture.
