Roundhouse makes good, heavyweight duck carpenter pants that are cheap. Duluth makes good everything. You can splurge and get Filson stuff that holds up pretty damn well too.
Carhartt has a huge problem with sizing. You can order the same pants, but they'll be made in different countries, and be completely different sizes.
I wear a 34x30. Ordered three pair. Only one fit properly. Sent two back. Only one that came back fit properly. Gave up on the last pair, and just got a refund

Went hunting in Montana a few years back and was encouraged to get Carhartt gear....the overall and jacket with hood because it could get bone chilling cold. The gear really works..... I recommend it.

I was in England a month ago and saw quite a few people wearing Carhartt which I thought was bizarre. None of them looked like they had ever touched a tool.

YOU SHUT UP! I like IPA's. And I own two pair of double front carhartt pants that are grease stained and tattered from briars.

Carhartt has several different brands. They have a European division that is more fashion oriented. I think a skate brand too.

You’re behind the times old man. I see young dudes wearing Carhartt everywhere.
Vests? I've never seen Carhartt on someone as a fashion statement outside of a vest.
ETA - And I guess their beanies too.
