Have worn Carhartt outerwear since the age of eighteen but I make my living in the construction business so it fits and their jackets are top notch in the field, though I haven't seen field work in a several years.

My MiL gave me a carharrt jacket like that about 3 years ago. I thought it was ugly, then I wore it one really cold weekend we went camping.

Great jacket and really warm

Now I have a pair of Carharrt work boots, a flannel type jacket, and a few of their beanies. I’ve worn the boots to do yard work nearly every weekend to do yard work and they might as well be brand new still

Carharrt, for whatever reason, has become extremely big in the streetwear community. I have some Carharrt shite for work and when I hunt, it throws me off when I see people wearing it as a staple part of their fit.

What have these hipsters done to the once proud and masculine status symbol of having a beard. Damn shame

So what is the equivalent of this for the North Face?

People who think hopping in the SUV to go to Starbucks is the definition of an expedition.

You MIGHT see a Carhartt vest worn for a fashion statement, but outside of that, it's still a very traditional work/outdoor brand.

I was in Switzerland last Christmas and was surprised to see Carhartt stores all over the place. The clientele was definitely not of the "working" type. Id say at least in Europe it has become a hipster brand.

It is everywhere in Deep Ellum in Dallas.

It’s also been gaining a lot of traction the last few months on Reddit. Like I said, it’s more of a hipster/Streetwear staple at the moment.

Always liked their gear, baws....It can take the outdoor abuse and still last a good while. Not many brands can, these days.....
