Austin is the best place to live in America, according to a 2019 U.S. News report.
Here are the Top 10 metropolitan areas, well 11 because I couldn’t leave out a city in Alabama. Even Alabama is getting better...
1. Austin, TX
2. Denver, CO
3. Colorado Springs, CO
4. Fayetteville, AR
5. Des Moines, IA
6. Minneapolis St-Paul, MN
7. San Francisco, CA
8. Portland, OR
9. Seattle, WA
10. Raleigh and Durham, NC
11. Huntsville, AL

It’s a great place, but it’s quickly pricing a lot of people out of being here, traffic can be a nightmare, home inventory can’t keep up with demand, and some other things.
That said, we have a high avg. salary, lots of jobs, access to a ton of outdoor activities (not that you’d want to do them over the last couple weeks when it’s averaged about 102 each day), and we’re a highly educated metro area.

Hooray. A thread where a bunch of people living in Baton Rouge can talk about how shitty Austin is.

Us BR residents have been very well behaved so far ITT

Having moved from Baton Rouge to Austin, traffic is a breeze IMO. The outdoor activities are what makes this city great. 250+ parks, lots of hiking, creeks and a huge mountain biking scene.
ETA: love the downvotes for listing things I like about a city.
