Same here and the worst thing I could have done was to try to fix it or even understand it. People with high anxiety, themselves can’t tell you what it is or how it’s brought on.

Eat right, get enough good sleep, hydration, and exercise...then, if you still feel anxiety, time for Dr. (possible meds).

I think too many are deficient in basic health and then conclude incorrectly anxiety.

However, 100% believe anxiety is real and inhibits people, requiring medical attention.

For those of y’all with panic attack or anxiety issues, have y’all ever had any concussions?

After my fifth concussion, my panic attacks started. It was awful for a year or so, failed off the football team and then out of college, couldn’t concentrate, felt awkward in social settings, etc…

Was just wondering if any of y’all experienced this after some sort of head trauma

The hot flashes that I get from anxiety attacks are nightmarish. It’s like the hangover scaries x100.

I think anxiety has genetic, nutritional/lifestyle, and ptsd components. I think some of it stems from childhood trauma, some of it from deficiencies in exercise/diet, and that there are some genetic predispositions for it. It definitely feels like a moving target, like most things with mental health.

I remember my first panic attack which happened during a primary school DARE presentation of all things. I have no idea why, but I suddenly fainted. It was like someone forcibly shut down my brain by holding down the power button. Now, any time people are discussing really serious medical stuff, I start to feel a panic attack welling up.

The scariest one was while I was driving. I started to feel it coming on for absolutely no reason. Thankfully, I had time to pull over into a parking lot, put my car in park, and dial a friend’s number right before I lost consciousness. I awoke to them calling me back.

You know, I’m pretty sure that first one happened around the same time that big old box tv fell on my head.

There is definitely some truth to all this. We are expected to process and deal with so much more information and tasks than we were just 15-20 years ago. Both at work and home. You never feel like you are “on top of things.”

Many of the football players that were posthumously diagnosed with CTE reported anxiety and depression.

I went to my GP. Told him I had anxiety... explained the symptoms and he gave me a prescription. I feel much better.

Question. How do you deal with like a SO with high anxiety? My reaction is to try and pinpoint what the problem is, but obviously that’s not the correct thing to do. I don’t mean deal with it in a bad way either. I just want to be more understanding of the situation.

I have had seizures, around 6-7, I woke up the floor with huge knot of the back of my head, two others resulted in stitches on my face. I finally saw a neuro to run tests, and had me prescribed anti-seizures....working so far.

Getting a MRI in a couple of weeks.

Had one after my first round of chemo 8 years ago. I had no clue what was going on. I thought I was going into respiratory failure. Wouldn't recommend.

The Sunday scaries are definitely real. I consider that a form of anxiety.

I used to get really worked up on flights. It had been several years but I had a silent, near fainting panic attack on a flight to Europe a few weeks ago. Like seeing stars, cold sweats, where should I plan to fall over kind of attack. It lasted about 15 minutes. I assume that was anxiety but who knows.

2 or 3 a month and last for 2 hrs?

I was dealing with, what ended up being my gall bladder. I had been in pain for awhile, went to the doctor, ran test and he couldn't find anything.

He even checked my gall bladder. I was in pain and had no idea where it was coming from and one night I felt like I was having a heart attack. Then several days later I had another, then about 2 weeks later I was in the hospital having my gall bladder removed, but if I had to go through that 2 or 3 times a month.. frick that, I would take something.
