Last time I was in Austin on 6th street was in the 90’s, looked nothing like that..

Yep, definitely a different vibe than it was in those days.

When you are on a street and the shite cars start revving up, it is time to move on.

Sorry, but I have no clue if it was always like that there.

Yes, there were parts of 6th Street that were like the Double Deuce but it is much better as you go toward the Whole Foods HQ. I preferred sections east of 35 as well. The rest of 6th was trash...far better areas to spend time downtown.

That’s a whole lot of shite, trashy people. Surprised that gunfire didn’t erupt into the crowd.

I've seen an absolute brawl on 6th street. At least 10 years ago, bottles smashed on people's heads etc

West 6th was where it was at when I moved to Austin in 2005 years ago. Parked anywhere with no problem. Sunday Funday was still bouncing bar to bar. East 6th(Dirty 6th) was always the tourist spot but was still fun on an occasional visit for cheap drinks. Austin used to be flip flops and tank tops now its skinny jeans and high rises.

It looks awfully dark for a city that is only 6.9% black.

Why are there so many urbanites at bars in Austin?

That is the same reason i don’t go out in New Orleans.

It’s amazing you see the same thing occurring in Nola as in Austin in the nightlife with the same people
