I knocked out a guy on 6th street in 2012, his "girl" started talking to me... wonder if he has a gold tooth now or he is just missing it completely

This was true 5 years ago. Rainey is a shell of its formed self and several blocks of bars have already closed down due to redevelopment. The tourist and bachelorette parties took over this area now.

Rainey was once seen as the gentrification center of Austin. People complained for years that it was killing the old vibe of Austin and bringing in something new and unwanted. Now it’s being bulldozed for high rises and the even newer version of what the old heads say is an unwanted change in Austin.
