I can imagine that area smelled like a neglected fish market and cocoa butter.

What's that stuff that the police are spraying on people? Pepper spray?

Saw nightly fights on 6th Street when I was living down there and going out 07 - 09. Had a buddy get his nose broke talking shite to a group on 6th Street on a Friday night in 09.

Downtown Austin is so ghetto now. Outside of sports we avoid at all cost.

Yeah dirty 6th is not the jam. It’s fine though, all the trash accumulates there so the rest of the town is chill

So you either haven’t frequented Austin lately or you are one of those transplants that think bringing California to Texas is “so cool”.

I cant quite put my finger on it.

It was Texas Relays weekend, that particular weekend the demographics change significantly in Austin.

I am not defending 6th St by any means. About 12 years ago I was hanging out with a group of girls on 6th on a Tuesday night right before school started. It was really quiet on 6th and we were having a great time until these 3 guys (same demographic) started creeping on the girls. Eventually I told them to take a hike...about an hour later I get sucker punched & jumped while walking down the street. I had over 20 fractures in my face, frick that place.

Hadn't been to Austin and 6th street since the 90's, man the crowd certainly has changed for the worst.

Austin has become a crime-ridden shithole.

As I mentioned previously, you can tell the age of a country song by how fondly it speaks of Jackson, MS. Yes, there was a time when it was a nice place.

All American cities will be Jackson, MS. It is inevitable.

The AA population in Austin in less than 10%. Is this how 6th St is now, or was there some type of Bayou Classic going on there at that time? How can they afford to live there?
