When you see the below graphic (cited by the article), do you conclude that Bezos paid no taxes?

btw if you are a so called conservative and you are upset that Bezos paid zero in income taxes, well.....you are not really conservative.
I’d say that’s all out the window when he is supporting candidates who will make me pay more of my income to the government while he continues to get bezos sized loopholes and exemptions written in.
If he was supporting candidates who supported tax cuts across the board then certainly I’d be all for him taking advantage of the tax code. But no he wants to pay next to nothing while he wants us peons trying to scratch out a living in a 4 bedroom 2 bath and trying to figure out how to pay for private school or send a kid to a failing school to pay more in taxes

Take out the loopholes and we get the real trickle down economics
Because that is where an increased tax revenue will go.
I would rather Bezos keep his money than the government use it to blow up more brown people.

Democrats on the campaign trail 100% of the time say “we need to tax the rich”. Idiots.

Why would you say that?
Unless the OT is full of tax attorneys or accountants, I can assure you that I understand taxes much more than most on this board.
I just find the typical baw reactions when this topic comes up to be incredibly naive and ill informed.

did i say anything about liking Bezo or supporting his politics??? Confused where I did.
He is a huge POS when it comes to those things.

I know it can seem overwhelming at times and if you have those things you sure as frick have worked hard to earn it, but sometime today try and take a step back and realize how blessed you are.
not being sarcastic, I fall vicitim to the same thing, especially when it comes to things like politics and taxes etc. This board and the poliboard and social media in general certainly doesnt help, but just remember how lucky guys like us really are

Just like with Trump, this is a big nothing burger. They make charitable donations to offset their tax liabilities. I don’t think people really want to start attacking something that affects everyone, not just rich folks. There are plenty of non-rich people that get credits for charitable donations.

This thread has been rather enlightening on who on this forum understands our tax system, and who are drooling idiots led around by the nose by the media.

kind of ironic, considering you are calling everyone that says who cares a simp. talk about a ill informed and naive take.
the whole article is click bait and bullshite. Unless one is a tax attorney and has access to someones full finacials....nobody has any business forming any opinion about how much someone pays in income taxes. Atleast on those that have investment income.
calling someone a simp because they say who cares or good for bezos is stupid. Its not white knighting when people say that, its frankly just saying.....who the frick am I to judge when i have about 2% of the facts.

A lot of simping for bezos in this thread.
Pretty pathetic.
I don't see simping for Bezos. Just some explaining.
People just need to realize the dude's wealth is in AMZN stock. He most likely doesn't take a salary. He won't pay taxes until he sells stock. He might not sell stock but once every two or three years. So there will be years he might not show income or capital gains and he won't pay taxes. Plain and simple.
