First half of his closing, I thought he did a good job of tying everything together. Which he didn't do very well during the trial.

But man, that dude just couldn't help himself going on and on. He just loves hearing himself talk. For the last 45 minutes or so, he was rambling and repeating himself. The points were made. All he needed to do was wrap it up and walk away. Idiot.

It is 84 today and was under 80 when they went out there. Is the reporter from Wisconsin? Jurors from this area are okay with this temp. They are sleeping because this went longer than it should have gone.
yep probably a yankee because they said it was hot and humid. yet the Moselle trip was at 9AM this morning.

It is warm today but not unbearable. The pine pollen is out big time.

Yep. He was just looking down at his notes and repeating the same bullet points he'd already said for an extra hour

Very nice job by Mr. Waters today.

I’m still expecting a guilty verdict.

The civilian me says he's guilty as hell but if I were a juror, I'd have a bigger responsibility and I would have reasonable doubt that he is the one who pulled the trigger. No way I'd vote to convict him of the charges the state has brought against him. No way in hell.

Did the prosecution lay out any motive? I am curious to that. I have not seen that mentioned anywhere.

All of his stealing was coming to light. The motive was to gain sympathy from his son and wife being murdered and the charges being reduced or dropped.

That’s all that matters. You think he’s guilty as hell but are going to let him walk?

Well, you're not a juror and if you were, you'd be familiar with the entire case presented, not just the limited aspects and sound bites that you've bothered to absorb.

It's astonishing how some, many, people on here admittedly haven't paid much attention to the trial and have limited grasp of the facts and evidence, yet still feel compelled to give their all-important yet ignorant opinion on it. Narcissistic much?
There's plenty of times I don't know shite and when I do I just shut up and move on. Maybe that's just me.

Of course you're the same one that stated:
quote:

So if you were on the jury, you’d convict based on the idea that he was there at the time of the murders? By that logic, maybe the dogs pulled the trigger because they were there too.

You might need to take a step back from this thread and reevaluate some things for the benefit of your mental health.

State gets the last word, right? They get rebuttal closing after the defense.

You're still mad about your idiotic shite I called out a couple hours ago I see.

quote:

Me:

quote:
circumstantial evidence is weighed exactly the same as direct evidence.

You:

quote:
That is a false, inaccurate, and misleading statement. Sorry that you can't see that.

The Law:

quote:
The law makes absolutely no distinction between the weight or value to be given to either direct or circumstantial evidence.
Nor is a greater degree of certainty required of circumstantial evidence than of direct evidence

Sorry, but you are fundamentally stupid.
