Make sure you gather intel on supplies and guns that they have so that you can confiscate when the grid goes down

My next-door neighbor moved in about 5 years ago and the realtor told them that the house previously belonged to a family member of mine.
The guy came over and told me that he was going to completely remodel the inside of the house and asked if there was anything out of it that I wanted.
Super nice family and we talk all of the time.

I’m as close to antisocial as they come without having an outright issue. This is totally a normal thing to do.

When we bought a house we did it. I didn’t like it, but you’re buying into a community. Be an a-hole all you want, but it helps to make a good first impression and know your neighbors.

Big mistake.

We introduced ourselves to new neighbors a while back, brought them a plant, and the guy befriended me. Always calling to play golf yet he’s bad (not the big deal) and slow (big deal). We’ve played together twice. Brings multiple gadgets to the course (gps watch that for some reason will never sync right, sensors in his clubs he’s always trying to sync with some app) all to hit well over 100. Hits multiple balls off the tee. So yea, know you get to look in the woods for two balls instead on one.

Hard to ghost a neighbor. Feel like he calls every weekend now to play golf to which I make up some excuse, then feel like I have to be sneaky trying to leave and play on my own.

I do when I have a place in the country - like next property on either side. I uncovered a lot of hunting ground doing that.

the people that already live there should be introducing themselves to the new people, especially in the rural/country areas. You never know when an emergency will pop up and out there, everyone needs to be able to help each other.

When we were moving into our new house, older white lady came to introduce herself and brought some fried chicken for us to eat.

I'm black. I got a good laugh out of it and learned that Winn Dixie fried chicken wasn't that bad. Been cool with that lady ever since. Even helped her with stuff around her house when her son wasn't available

Why don't you tell him that you like to go at a quicker pace?

I always appreciate when someone tells me the truth.

Not my job or problem. You’d think the line of carts behind him, the Marshall talking to him, or his playing partners refusing to help look for his second ball would be enough to get the hint. People that lack self awareness are like that in every aspect.

Again, back to the point of the thread…big mistake to blindly make friends to a neighbor without knowing anything about them. Hard to cut ties when they live next door.

Oh man, how will I ever get over the fact that some random internet wannabe tough guy down voted a topic that I discussed?

Suck more dicks?

Sorry you're too much of an a-hole and moron to develop a good relationship with your neighbors.

Because you ran to a message board to ask us about it. Stop being an introverted weirdo and be happy you have friendly neighbors.

Not everything has to be a conspiracy baw.

Just a month ago we had a new young couple move in across the street. I was mowing and saw him on front porch. Walked over and introduced myself. They were most appreciative.
If you lack desire to love your neighbor you need to self check.

Man, what the frick has this board become?
Making a simple post is now considered running to the internet and asking strangers to solve all of your worldly problems?

Asking a question and you're now considered weird, introverted, an a-hole ,rude and annoyed.
