There are alot of people in Key West that live on sailboats and travel by dingy in the morning to work. They have dingy docks setup that include restroom/showers with the fees. You do have to have your sewage pumped in the boats obviously and it is checked pretty frequently. I expect they have this setup in other places in the keys as well, just Key West is the one I am more familiar with.

Live-aboards are extremely popular here, but most have slips they pay for.

When I look out on the water, I expect to see boats and ships. Evidently limousine liberals think otherwise.

So why wouldn’t regular Coast Guard regulation not apply?

isn't that the premise that got casinos into LA?

Riverboat gambling, because it was so beneficial when the gamblers were actually ON riverboats in the 19th century.

I sure am not feeling sorry for some bitch complaining because a boat looks junky on public waters within eyesight.

Seeing how the on-land homeless behave - shitting on the skreetz, dumping trash everywhere, breaking in cars....would it be any surprise at all that they are also dumping their trash into the Bay?

I'm not defending the homeowners here b/c Cali can burn to the ground for all I care, BUT if that were my house, I'd be pissed. And let's not act like all their registrations are up to date for emissions standards etc.

complaints mounted about problems ranging from trash and raw sewage dumped in the bay

yeah, the one dude who said he packs out all of his refuse may indeed do so. But I guarantee you the that trash bucket with the kid and old ZZ Top (who wants a million dollars for his rust bucket) aint packing out their garbage and human waste. They're dumping it right over the side. And its also glaring that the documentary maker is only showing the "freedom loving, self-proclaimed pirates" who are just trying to live in nature. BULL shite. Most of them are drug dealing, thieving hippies who simply found a way to avoid arrest. fricking pure trash.
Looks like a great place for SEAL training on live targets.

Its world class karenism to cry over people living in boats. , on the water which is always in motion.

whats your point? The Mississippi River is always in motion. As is the GOM. But dump enough shite in it and you still have a huge pollution/contamination problem. There is a legit concern and risk with all these boats dumping refuse and human waste in the sound. I guarantee you they aren't all being responsible with waste disposal.

Problem I see is that for every person like the guy in the video that is collecting and hauling off his trash and waste, there are probably a handful of people dumping sewage into the bay and throwing trash off their boat.

With the State taking jurisdiction of so many water bodies that were prior believed to be federal water in AK, I expect you are going to see alot more of them. I think they are trying to figure out the wastewater logistics. I think some people are going to incinerator toilets in their boats but I am not really familiar with them or how well they work in marine applications.

Have you bought a gallon of marine paint lately ?

Anything dealing with boats/yachts/ships is expensive.

You deal with the people dumping in the bay, not the ones hauling it off like growups.

So would something like this work in Lake Pontchartrain? Seems like a good way to start saving rapidly for retirement

IMO - if you owned a house in Sausalito/Marin area and there are junk boats within eye sight, it

There was a few shown in the marina in the same condition as the squatters boats.

I’m gonna go live on a boat and just park off the coast and stay to myself.

While I agree the cities should leave them alone, they are anchored in a small bay about 100 yards off the coast of Sausalito. They have always been violating the law that says 72 hours is the max you can be anchored in any bay or harbor but the law was enforced sporadically. These boaters also dump raw sewage and leak diesel into the bay and have to be rescued when storms blow through, which happens often.

Soys just don't want to have to look at them in the harbor. Boats in the harbor are offensive.

California has the most tyrannical government in the country. Tons of homeless people laying around, and trash, but they worry about boat owners enjoying the ocean.

Yep, because the rich cats that live on the coast don't have to see the tents and shite towns thrown up by vagrants. Classic NIMBY.
