There are more public libraries in America than MacDonalds
I find this almost impossible to believe.
most towns don't have even one McDonalds

the British government is still paying interest on loans from the Rothschild's dating back to the Napoleonic War.
They were paid off in 2014. The reason they were outstanding for so long is that the interest rate was ridiculously low.

So, as counterintuitive as it may sound, -1/12th is an actual answer (though not necessarily the answer).
I never said it wasn't an answer. I just said it was wrong, which it is.
Nope, it is in fact minus 1/12. As he said, the proof crucially depends on the series being infinite. If you ever "stop" then the sum is of course a really big positive number.
There are several Youtube videos showing why. This one is probably easiest to understand but they cut some corners to make it easy. The math does hold up though, a more rigorous treatment is here.
Also, 1 cubed + 2 cubed + 3 cubed etc. = 1/120
1 squared + 2 squared + 3 squared etc. = 0
Here is another one.

Related, I guess, Nigerian goats have great milk but can be a pain. Sort of like Donkeys--which will attack something if it looks weird or threatening to them.

Judging by the up/down votes, infinite series aren’t a strong suit of the people in this thread.
1 - 1/3 + 1/5 - 1/7 + 1/9 ... = pi/4
A series of rational numbers summed up to an irrational number.
1 - 1 + 1 - 1 + 1 ... = 1/2
1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 ... = -1
1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 ... = 1

An infinite number of mathematicians walk into a bar. The first one orders a beer. The second one orders half a beer. The third one orders a fourth of a beer. The bartender stops them, pours two beers and says, "You should know your limits."

If you took all of the concrete used to construct the Hoover Dam and stacked it vertically, you could halt the flow of the Colorado River.
