Never took one before, are they difficult? How long do they take? is it online or in a classroom? Is it for 3 credit hours or just 1 hr

Mine was a 3hr credit. Class everyday for 3hrs for 2 weeks. Difficulty depends on the teacher. I haven't heard of anyone failing them. I had Mokeba and his wasn't bad. It just requires effort.

Intersession

intercession - the action of intervening on behalf of another.

intersession - a short period between university terms, sometimes used by students to engage in projects outside the normal academic program.
Why do so many posters fail to spell this word correctly?

Because intercession is a more common word (autocorrect)

I've never taken an intersession that was hard. I've also never taken one that the professor didn't dismiss class after like 1 1/2 hours every day.

I took a market class - it was amazing how fast the class flew by - the first week was midterm and second week was the final. I wouldn't take anything like stats, math, biology or Acct, I guess the only thing would maybe a marketing or English- if available. My major was economics

In that case, does no one proofread before they press "send" or "post?

One Spring intercession we had a graduate professor from Spain for some 3000-level Finance. He apparently thought that everyone here was a dumbass. One day he started explaining that, this one time, back in the 1920's, there was a really big depression. It was awful. Stock market crashed. People lost everything. Some people were even jumping out of buildings. Then he said something just like Tony Montana would have said it, "Joo gois woodeent beeleeb how bah ee whuz."
And we all asked follow up questions like, "How big was this depression?" "Would you say it was great?"

I took business writing and a several 3D rendering classes during a couple intersessions. It was great for the computer programs like 3dsmax where intense, concentrated teaching was beneficial. The writing class was also easy because he couldn't give big writing assignments like he could in a full semester. All in all some pretty easy credits that were beneficial.

depends on the class..materials lab and strengths and materials in the summer wasn't terrible. Tried taking calc 2 the summer after my freshman year and dropped that extremely quick.

I went to intercession twice. I actually liked it. You cover a lot during that time and it seems like its going to be a lot, but it really does depend on who the instructor is. Both times for me, I had pretty cool instructors and it wasn't bad at all.

It shouldn't be too difficult. Imagine it as being a fast paced crash course in whatever class it is. I think I learned more in an intersession than I did in a regular semester class

Depends on the class.
I took Constitutional Law (Poli 4021) and loved it, but it wasn't easy.
We spent the entire (3) hours in class from 1pm to 4pm everyday and had (6) hours of reading each night. Took open book quizzes on the material the next day as soon as class started.
After (3) weeks, I literally could tell you everything about the Constitution, jurisprudence, the Justices former and present, ect. That class was the turning point in my academic career. I figured if I could make it through that I could make it through anything. I finished a year later.

I personally tried to schedule my harder classes for intersession if I could. By having class everyday and test only 3 days after reviewing the information, I barely had to study at all to make good grades. It was all still fresh in my mind

It wasn't hard, but you have no life. Class all day, nap, study, rinse repeat.
I took Human Anatomy which about killed me. Test everyday.
I also hear that some are much easier similar to summer.

I took an intersession class as my second to last class ever, then I took one class during the summer, so I could graduate. Don't remember what my intersession class even was, something about advertising/marketing. I remember it being three hours a day for thirteen days. Mid term at the end of the first week, group project for the final...I think. We did spend pretty close to the full time in there most days, which most definitely dragged, but otherwise, had a pretty laid back teacher. It was actually a pretty awesome way to knock out a class. Especially because I got an A.
Eta: it was a lot cooler being done with it vs. what it was like to sit thru it everyday.
