Was a part of some severe weather near the metroplex earlier this morning and I have some significant damage on my vehicle.

This is the first time I've ever had to file a claim on a vehicle that I own so I'm just looking as to what I can expect.

Yes. I'm that white trash baw rolling around with a garbage bag in his window.

In the last pic, that's the inside of my truck bed. Something hit it at a high enough speed to put a huge indention into it the size of that red mark.

Will any of this be require extensive repairs?

I filed an insurance claim when I got hailed on. Took it to DFW storm solutions and they took care of everything. A guy picked my car up from work, gave me a rental, and they paid my deductible. It was a great experience. Not sure if they will take care of this type of damage, but it's worth a try.

This is why we pay for insurance. People are too scared to collect on what they pay for while insurance companies make bank. If you are one of the lucky ones that can afford and pays for insurance, make your claim. Let the adjusters work and collect on that money.

I do have Comprehensive coverage.

I'd assume the truck is worth anywhere from $20-25K

should be covered under your comprehensive coverage.

Yea looks like you got some real damage that will likely go well over your deductible assuming your comprehensive deductible isn't too high.

Call your insurance company and get the ball rolling. There is evidence of straightline winds or a small tornado in the northwestern part of the metromess so it should be straightforward. I know the wind was pretty high and we had horizontal rain at my house in East Dallas this morning. My futon on the covered deck got wet.

If you have comp coverage you should just call your insurance company.

I filed a claim through the Geico app earlier this morning like right after it happened. I live in Stephenville temporarily and yes, it got bad and was from wind. The apartment complex next to mine is completely demolished now.

My deductible is $501.

Basically what I'm wanting to know is, is there any chance of this bitch being totalled? I'm assuming not but my parents mentioned it to me and I think they're nuts.

You can expect an adjuster to come out and look at it, tell you to get an estimate on the damage, and then they will pay for the work minus the deductible.

Likely replace the panel around the door, tailgate and, if you try just a little, the entire rear window. They'll probably try to get by with replacing the panel thats broken only, but just start questioning it and tell them you think it will leak.

I doubt it. But it depends on how expensive it is to fix the damage. Most everyone I know had their cars totaled during a hail storm in East Dallas 4 or 5 years ago. Even for relatively minor damage. But then my wife was sandwiched by and 18 wheeler and the car was pretty beat up. Cops on the scene told us it would be totaled out but the insurance company fixed it.

When you go to meet with the body shops about the damage, mention that you're deductible is $501.00 and see if you can get one of them to build that back into their estimates and refund you the money later.

Thankfully for all involved, cops aren't insurance adjusters.

And this is one of many reasons we pay such high premiums.

I can't believe how many people still think this acceptable.

Op, it looks like about $4800, counting glass.

No, it's not totaled.
