Government St was a 2 lane w/diagonal parking both sides. The state changed it to four lanes. To allow traffic as the burbs’ developed. That killed every small business quickly and the “corner” stores & Western Auto died slowly because of lack ofparking.

I agree. Bring it back to diagonal parking instead of the current BS.

I'm not old enough to remember that, but Government is lined up with almost exclusively small businesses now.

The whole point was to push more traffic to North Blvd, which has zero traffic, and then take cross streets to government. No one seems to do that. The road surface does suck thoughin spots.

That being said, I also drive government everyday, and I don't find it sucks at all, especially when compared to other primary arteries in this town.

If you ever try to turn left at a street without a light good luck. You will be sitting there for a while. We should take bets of how long before they tear all the medians out and revert it back to the way it was. You can barely pull out of some of the businesses without hitting the median. Also try and drive down it during rush hour you will sit for several light cycles.

X apparently thinks that's Jacksonville. Or that 'news' reposting account does, anyway.

Not sure if they or BR should be more offended by the accusation.

Do theses accounts do this (false details, attributions, trans-coded video) intentionally to try to make the story seem 'original' to them?

It appears they are riding in the wrong direction. Bike lane or not.

9 out of 10 people on a bike are riding in the wrong direction. It’s infuriating.

They do it because they are foreign agitators that want to stir up shite, and unfortunately it works. Posters on here share these accounts all the time as legitimate and people lap it up.

North Blvd dead ends at Foster. Urban planners fail to understand people like myself resist behavior modification tactics. I believe 36 months from now it may be dramatically difference. The state gave up ownership and the city acquired it..EBR will not be able to maintain it w/budget constraints. It will deteriorate and the small businesses will not have resources to survive.

Yea I get that, but it seems they could accomplish mostly the same without either blatently lying about details or making up details they don't know.

Yea there's sometimes 'credibility' or social standing of a kind in knowing details others don't have, but doesn't seem worth the 100x lack of credibility from being shown to push bad info or being a liar.

Maybe it's just my lack of ability to properly understand the stupidity of these "foreign minds".

Straight up copy and paste if you're going to steal/repost something. That might arguably at least have some net positive value to it.

Drove it today out and back in from downtown to Airline.

Suuuure... but let's talk about obscenely placed intersections with un-coordinated traffic lights.

Examples: Old BR General turn-in Peachtree right next to Acadian, Eugene to close to S. 22nd St, then N. Blvd at I-110.

Plus it's another EBR bumpy-arse road.

Bring back the old NASCAR-level Government Street run and let's get it on.

Baton Rouge just loves to make you turn twice+ in order to go straight.

Often while combining the traffic of two roads into one before re-splitting.

Once you see it everywhere, you can't unsee it.

The new double diamond exit for pecue somehow one-upped this, making you wait to turn 'LEFT' (cross oncoming traffic), TWICE just to go straight.
