What's the best way to do this? NB4 I'm poor and siding is trashy.

They seriously need a How to Install TV sticky. Put it on the Tech board.

Sounds like the TV is going to be stolen.

Find a stud and go into that.
Best way would be to remove a square of siding using an oscillating saw, then attach wood in the square and paint to match then attach bracket to the woood with lag bolts.

Awesome suggestion, Chicken. You're the best.
Try finding the band between floors if 2 story... it will give you more flexibility.

This. Also, look at the interior wall and look for plugs. You don't want to hit a live wire.

I say that because siding isn't at 90° but it wouldn't matter much

First question-Before any of the other ones:
1.) Where is your electrical? How far away is your mount going to be from it?
I installed an electrical outlet to the same set of studs I installed my mount to. I had an electrician come and run it and install the box. Then used a sawsall after he found the studs and cut through the siding/insulation/tyvek. Then just measured and drilled as needed.
The area I installed my TV in is under an insulated patio so no issue with weather/water getting into or behind it. The TV completely covers the area where I cut and it's not trashy but I guess if I really wanted to class it up, I'd install a small frame for the outlet around the cut siding and then install a weatherproof box over the outlet.
But I really haven't needed to.
Good luck, brah.

Vinyl, that's the only reason for the question. I know installing a mount is simple but I wasn't sure if I needed to remove a piece of siding or just find the studs and drill into the siding. The area is a covered patio.

You dont REALLY need to hit studs, 1/2" plywood is plenty sufficient to support a TV, even if 60" or larger. Use the provided lag screws or get new ones, 2" is plenty long enough.

Ouch. Vinyl siding is a tough one. You’re going to frick up the vinyl either by drilling into it or cutting out a square.
If you own the house, I would trace the mounting plate and screw in a mounting block the same size as your wall plate and mount to that
