Apparently this became a thing with all of the internet/app dating. Like me, you probably picked up your dates because you either already met them in person or were set up with trusted friends. So, the risk to the woman was lower (never 0%). Now with how easy it is for creepy dudes to set-up accounts; a lot of women won't let a guy know where she lives until they've at least met in person
