I remember the show with Rodie and that younger detective. Guessing they never got "that son of a bitch."

Feb. 25, 1986 BATON ROUGE, La. -- A man who killed a would-be intruder with a booby-trap handgun and left the body on his back porch for nearly a year was convicted Tuesday of manslaughter. Jeffrey Britt, 59, testified he had no intention of killing anyone with the .44 magnum pistol but was trying to scare off burglars.

I think she was with her twin sister who witnessed the whole thing. Sad.

Another was the female LSU student jogger who went missing back around 1980. It took a while, but they eventually found her body between Nicholson drive and the LSU golf course. Police were very hush hush about the details of the murder. Wonder if it might have been early SVG? Old OT post about the jogger

I found somewhere that Manda was sentenced to 65 years in prison. Here is an article about the murder:

Robbery/murder at Delly's Corner (Sharp and Old Hammond Hwy) early 2000's. Burger/poboy place.
Owner (great guy) killed and robbed after closing time.
His Family thought it was an employee but I don't think the case was solved.
I was dating "Delly" (his daughter) when he was killed. He was a great man.

I was in the restaurant business at the time and knew a lot of people that knew him. By all accounts, he was a great man. That entire situation was tragic.

Another one that is more current. The older couple that was killed and I want to say their bodies were found in their car at a gas station in Livingston Parish or something? I forget the exact details, but does anyone know what I am referring to?

And while this didn't happen in BR, it had ties to BR.. But the DC Sniper.

Why did the girl come back to his apartment with several male friends and why didn’t they call the cops when he answered the door with a pistol and dragged her inside?

Barry Root was the mans name that was murdered.
---They were a nice family. We lived not far from them. Horrible time.

Denis "Bubbie" Duplantier, 71, and Suzanne "Suzy" Duplantier, 70. Authorities have said the victims were strangled.

Alonso, 45, and Garcia, 50, are charged with first-degree murder in the October 2015 robbery, beating, abduction and killing. Alonso did landscaping work for the Duplantiers and lived in an apartment above a Nicholson Drive barn on their property. LINK

Did anyone mention the murder of that mom who was shot in front of her daughter who was also shot in their house in Beauregard Town? Around 2010

Already mentioned. That one is hard to forget. I think Trudy White has a hand in that one.

The young daughter was shot in the back during the incident. She went to school with my son. Her grandmother ended up taking her in after the mother was killed.

Trudy White let the guy out of jail on the condition he “do good deeds” prior to the murder.

I've always wondered that myself. I quit associating with those that would be in the know of that situation long before that occurred. Probably those guys didnt know how crazy Kyle could act and things went bad very fast.
