"allocated by income level, to exclude the super-wealthy."

Good to know that super wealthy is considered family income over $150,000

In reading the article, it seems that the 1000 would simply be reduced starting at 75k.

quote:

Republican senators say they want to model direct payments on the stimulus checks former President George W. Bush sent out in 2008 during the financial crisis. Twelve years ago, the rebates were reduced for individual incomes above $75,000 and joint incomes above $150,000.
GOP lawmakers caution, however, that they haven’t yet finalized the proposal, which remains under negotiation.
“It hasn’t been written up yet, but I think the idea was to follow the formula used in 2008. And those are income thresholds that I think everybody finds acceptable in describing middle-income taxpayers,” said Senate Republican Whip John Thune

As I said earlier, if this was given as a tax credit it would at least make some sort of sense.

A tax credit makes no sense in this situation

This is for the working people that are going without a check, not the people that we all know won't miss a single cent in gubment payments.

You know they will be getting unemployment checks which is a FREE hand out. So screw you. This money are to stimulate.

No kidding, it's funny that "super wealthy" is used to describe the limits for both the IRS delay and the stimulus check

Except that to the IRS it means anyone whose tax liability is over a million, and to Congress it's anyone who makes 75k
