yeah, which makes me cringe about the tax bill I’ll be paying to make this happen. in my mind it’s justifiable if it goes to those deserving, but I know it won’t in a lot of cases.

I won't be getting a damn check and sure as shite don't need one.
Anyone who gets a check and truly doesn't NEED it is a leech. Meanwhile, I will be helping out friends that don't have it well off like my family does. We are helping 3 different families with essentials and they know if shite really goes south, they are welcome to stay in my 5th wheel.

Agreed. I am in no way a fan of handouts, but government mandates are the only reason people are out of work right now in the first place.
As I said earlier, if this was given as a tax credit it would at least make some sort of sense.
Who cares what the folks on the teet think? They wouldn't vote republican even if Trump gave every last one a blow job and a reach around.
