We did what we could- like I said, someone jumped up from our table and ran over ready to do what was necessary to protect her.
The table next to us, with 6 professionally dressed black people just sat back and watched.
What are the cops going to do after the girl left? She wasn't there to press charges.
The owner clearly believed her to be the problem, and not the guy swinging the pool cue over and over.

There was only one man at our table - and he got up to handle things.
We had our children there so figured the best thing to do was leave after the woman was safe.
We have eaten here a million times and never ever had one single problem.
It is not in a sketchy area by any means.
The owner's reaction leads me to believe it is no longer safe and I am sad about it.
ETA- the worst this is that my 12 year old told me if he was bigger and stronger he would have went to help his dad- and he wonders why the bad guys were gifted the opportunity to stay. And possibly beat someone else.
The owner's behavior extends and enforces racism. My 12 year old's young mind cannot make sense of why a lady can be beaten with a pool cue in an establishment with no repercussions for the people that were beating her.
He will draw his own conclusions.
