She does not deserve a beating in a public restaurant.

If she hangs out with thugs in a non-pubic place...there won't be anyone to help her. But at a public restaurant there should be (owners/patrons) that do the right thing.

quote:

Right. You don’t seem to know shite about any of it.

Here's what I know. I went to a place to eat on Coursey Boulevard where kids were allowed to eat. A woman was beaten in front of my children and the people beating her were allowed to stay.

quote:

Hit her or beat the shite out of her?

She was hit repeatedly with a pool cue as we heard the strikes through a glass wall.

quote:

Sounds to me like you should choose a more respectable place for dinner.

I chose a place we have been to a million times, that allows children.

quote:

If the assault and circumstances around it were as one sided as you claim, I can’t Imagine anyone letting them stay

This is exactly my problem...THEY WERE ALLOWED TO STAY.

so I am warning my community, as this is completely inappropriate and wrong.

To be honest, I totally did not expect this.

But...does that make it right? or acceptable?

It seems like there is more to the story, as in what led up to where you picked up.

I will say that you seem to be on a mission with this thread, which makes me question things.

I have no idea what happened before I got there.

What I know is that the owner admitted the girl had done nothing but "verbally assaulted" two guys.

And they beat her with a pool cue. And they were allowed to stay.

Yes- I am on a mission. I do not agree with the owner. I do not want people such as myself to find themselves in the same scenario (with/without kids).

I am having a hard time understanding why anyone would disagree with me.

Why would you want to visit an establishment were people who beat others are welcomed?

town. But let's keep the masses thinking it's just a shady daquiri shop with bar food.

Someone got beat with a pool cue and the owner approved it. It’s certainly a shady place.

I can't help but contrast your story with an unfortunate incident I witnessed in a bar in Odessa, Ukraine while working in the merchant marine that involved a black American sailor and a Ukrainian white woman.

I don't the know the particulars of what actually happened, but it ended up with the black sailor slapping the piss out of the woman.

I can't imagine what he could have possibly been thinking, but I always assumed that he figured it would be like in the United States where no one would bother confronting the angry and aggressive black man, and before that thought probably even left his head, about a half dozen Ukrainian men came over and beat him completely unconscious.

As he was lying knocked out on the floor they then pulled down his pants to expose where two women squatted over him who then dropped their pants down to urinate on him while bar patrons clapped and cheered them on.

I was never so scared and shameful in all my life, but what the hell was I suppose to do. I wasn't about to get my arse beaten unconscious because some black guy got culturally confused in a Eastern European country.

Me and a couple of others sailors were able at least to get the other black sailor he was drinking with safely out the bar.

Anyway, thanks for triggering a very unpleasant memory for me tonight.

I never said that I disagreed with you, just that there was a lack of context and a timeline leading up to what you witnessed. That, and most people that try to burn a place down over the internet / social media tend to have ulterior motives. Most people share their experience, if they feel the need to, and move on.

I actually believe you 100%.

I used to go there when I lived in Hickory Ridge, before it was called Tiger Paw, when it was the Bourbon Street Bar & Grill, before they expanded and still had the copper mirror wall with the fireplace. The food was great and they had 2 for 1 daquiris on Tuesdays.

But I’ve since moved out of state. I was in town last week for the St. Patty’s Parade and decided to stop by for a late night drink. I was shocked by the Friday night crowd. Looked like the entire Section 8 apartment complex behind it was at the bar. Totally packed, and I was certainly the minority there. Although oddly enough, the pay-for-play jukebox was apparently being dominated by a few baws playing nothing but heavy metal the entire time I was there. It was a bizarre sight to see. I had my drink and gtfo.

Food good at tiger paw?
Some of the worst food I had was from there.
I would never recommend it to anyone.

Its also on Coursey boulevard...not North Baton Rouge or even a somewhat sketchy area of town.

The whole city is sketchy. Stop lying to us and yourself.
Also, who brings their kids to eat in a bar?

I day drink there all the time. I have never seen anyone order food in that place. Just adults at the bar.
