Several. The first was while in high school.

A cop caught my girlfriend and I parking. He checked us out and left.
Then the bastard returned and wanted us to give him a show or he was going to call our parents.

I told him to call the Sheriff on his radio and tell him what he wanted us to do. ( as the Sheriff knew me )

He left and I was at the Sheriffs house at daylight the next AM.

It was all handled quietly and he was gone.

This was in 1972 and would be handled differently today.

Christ, no wonder y'alls insurance rates are so high. How are y'all getting pulled over so often?

I’ve been given a warning once in my life. Out of 8 times being pulled over. WTF did you do to get warnings half the time?

Probably 10. Spent several nights in the Lancaster County Hilton doing dumb shite while drunk. Few visits to my dorm room when the towel under the door didn’t keep the weed smell out of the hall.

Didn’t really get in any trouble outside of a few tickets and classes. I credit my white privilege

It’s good to know people in very high places. If you check my driving record I have zero speeding tickets but I’ve received 7 no-seatbelt tickets

Speed traps. Sudden changes in speed limit (15-20 mph drop) with a barely visible sign or around a turn, plus speeding tickets are how a lot of departments fund their tacticool equipment.

I recall seeing an infographic here sometime in the last year that showed something like 7 or 8 of the top 10 municipalities funded by traffic citations were in Louisiana

Yep, the guy I know always runs for a higher office every decade or so so he refuses to completely erase the tickets and instead makes me pay the fine so that there’s no harm if it’s ever dug up. I paid my fines each time and had them reduced to no-seatbelt infractions. Non-moving violation FTW!

10 or so.
Pulled over in HS for illegal turn. Let off, I think because we were returning from practice.
1 speeding ticket. Deserved it.

Little reckless type driving twice. No tickets.

Set off silent alarm at restaurant before work. That one had black co-worker shocked. That I just walked up to NOPD with hands up. Totally calm.

Few crashes where ppl hit me.

One time questioned for Trumped up terroristic threat charge. That was kinda contentious. But, was a situation where a guy had it out for me and had a detective friend.

Overall, I've been impressed with police officers demeanor and behavior. Pretty reasonable guys in my opinion.

If you’re being questioned for a terroristic threat charge, chances are you’re guilty. That doesn’t just happen out of the blue.

on 3-4 occasions I doubt they had me on radar because they did u-turns to pull me over. I think for the most part just being really cool and respectful goes a long way.

In 2004/5 a state trooper pulled me over for seatbelt. I noticed he had a national championship ring, he was one of Sabans escorts on the sideline, told me everyone associated with the team got rings. He was cool but said he couldn't give me a warning.

Trooper had me going 75 in a 55 by the sunshine bridge. He gave me 5mph over bc he said Ascension was one of the most expensive parishes for tickets.

I've watched the cops let my passengers urinate in the street, while trying to stick me for a DUI... when I was an honest 3 beers in, on a 5-6 hour DD shift. It was fl/ga weekend, but their selective enforcement of crime while being overzealous in pursuit of another crime, that wasn't committed, makes me chuckle. I was also a hit and run victim in a similar scenario, sober af, with a car full of drunks. After that experience I just started letting my friends drive drunk

More nice guys than assholes, except in Livonia, small town a-hole cops.

This is one police department worthy of being defunded.

Every day cause I work for em'

Outside of work - one speeding ticket, a couple of fender benders, and reporting a burglary at my neighbor's house.

Never had an issue.

Family member that is LEO always told me growing up that when he pulls someone over, 75% of the time he hasn’t decided whether to write a ticket or not when he first approaches the person. How you act matters.

Several. Most have been innocuous. A handful or so have been pretty bad, most of them instigated by law enforcement. One encounter I was the a-hole and got what I deserved.

My guess is that this will never happen to you again.

I had a cop s-l-o-w-l-y (with lights) on pull up on me & a gf parking in a church parking lot. He gave us time to get reconstructed. Told us to go find a more appropriate place.

“Yes sir!”

Only when I've gotten a speeding ticket. Only 1 of which was a complete over the top a-hole. Other than that I don't do stupid shite to require LEO involvement.
