Come to Lafayette. They're getting very creative. On one of the busiest street corners in town, they line up 3 deep, one every 20 yards. One dresses as Spider Man, one is a woman whose sign says she has cancer and has 2 very young chillens with her and the 3rd holds a sign that says he's a homeless VET.
I personally think they work together and split all "donations" at the end of the day.

This is the problem. We are too stupid to stop giving it to them.

Greg Tarver would have been much better.

Which is why all the former black mayors endorsed Arceneaux.

Tarver calls a spade……

I was in Shreveport recently and I wanted to stop and visit the Municipal Memorial Auditorium just to look at the monuments and plaques to Elvis, etc. We could not get out of the car because there were so many unsavory characters loitering about.

Driving around downtown Shreveport, you can tell it used to be a nice city. There are some cool streets and buildings.

Shreveport is in a free fall for the bottom.
Arceneaux is a weak Mayor. And a black majority city council practices racial politics to the hilt and is running the City directly into the ground.
Councilwoman Taylor is the actual leader on the council, although the Chair, Rev. Green is more senior. Green is hugely egotistic but not very smart, leaving Taylor a free hand. This dynamic is bad for the entire city.

They seem to be attracted to home improvement stores. There’s a full blown encampment in the woods near HD in LC.

This is a similar situation. That whole area in Shreveport used to be cotton fields intersected by waterways. The Duck Pond, C. Bickham Park, Sand Beach Bayou, and Bayou Pierre all are in that area.

There’s another old creek bed just south of that shopping center. It’s undeveloped because it’s muddy bottomlands. There must be just enough space for them to set up camp and remain relatively hidden.

Lol! Man, the headline here. I frequent this location & area….and have never seen this. I guess it can happen anywhere, but it’s hardly rampant.

They are everywhere. There are entire tent cities under the interstate in Nola. People must drop off old their old furniture and stuff bc I don’t think they would search and carry back to tent city. And begging at the street corners.

Yeah. I go to that Lowes weekly. I've never had anyone come up to me begging.

Municipal Memorial Auditorium

Terrible area, mainly later in the evening and at night. My office is very close to the Municipal and this area is a haven for dope heads. Fairmont Apartments, Texas Ave, Milam, etc is crawling with undesirables.

Every single one I see is always limping, like they are so pathetic already, but now, they gonna be crippled, too, so you gotta be sympathetic, or you're just the worst if you don't contribute.

Every. Single. Time.

Shreveport was a nice town to grow up in in the 70’s and 80’s. Was still fairly prosperous through the 90’s when the casinos came online.

You know what’s sad? S’port was a good place once. I lived there years ago for a short period of time. Didn’t like it personally, and left, but the people seemed decent. At least where I lived, across from LSUS on Youree Dr. Seemed like a wealthy suburb of Dallas.

My kid used to go to daycare at the church right there. Made me nervous every single day dropping her off and picking her up. Thankfully covid ended that little time in our lives and we were able to change to one in Bossier
