In BR go to Wholesale Mattress Factory on Florida Blvd. it’s an old warehouse where they make the mattresses. I buy all my mattresses there - got a top quality king pillowtop about 6 mos ago for 1000. The guy is white not black

I bought one from them a bit over 12 years ago. I can kick myself in the arse not going back to them.

Is that the Old I think yellow tin build? Been some time.

Answer’s always the same: wait until Bayou Classic weekend and check the shoulders of the spillway bridge.

Anyone bought one of those online mattresses ala Purple?

I bought a Purple about a month ago. It’s definitely a different sleep than I was used to. It’s firm and soft at the same time because of the grid top layer and a firmer foam underneath. Kind of hard to explain.

At first I wasn’t sure about it, but I really like it now. I sleep on my stomach/side and always have my arms fall asleep. For whatever reason, that doesn’t happen as much now. Other than that I always sleep through the night; so, I’m not that picky. I just am a sweaty man and tend to get hot. The best thing about Purple is that it truly sleeps cool. You can pile on the blankets and largely not heat up the mattress bc the grid breathes well.

That all being said my gf has enjoyed it a little less than me. She thinks bc she only weighs 115lbs she doesn’t sink into it as much. I think we are going to keep it, though.

Wholesale Mattress Factory , Florida Blvd, in BR is the correct answer. Call them. Great product.

I tried it in their Houston store. Very comfortable. Idk if it was cariloha but my wife's grandmother had a bamboo mattress that we used when we stayed there and it was amazing.

It’s not. I think they’re in the old food bank building at plank and Choctaw but not sure. This guy is on Florida close to downtown. He gets leftover mattresses by the truckload and sells them cheap. Good brands but it just depends what he got a deal on.

I think I bought a queen size there back in the 80s. Can’t believe it’s still around. Wasn’t bad. Not top quality but not bad.

My advice now is to go to Costco and get whatever they sell.

Cant help you with the price, but will give my opinion; Lil over a year ago, I purchased a Tempurpedic (about $3700), and love it. I have never spent more than a few hundred dollars on a mattress. When looking to buy one, I read an article which pointed out the fact - "one sleeps for one third of one's life. If you live, say, 75 years, that's 25 years asleep, or 9,125 days"
After considering this, I spent the money... Don't regret it

We bought a Zinus mattress from Amazon before last Christmas. It has been great. We wanted to upgrade to a king, but couldn’t stomach the price point.

I figured I’d gamble $300 on the Zinus and if we didn’t like it no big loss. It has been far better than we imagined.

agree on the spending good money on a mattress. With that said if you are under 40 you can probably sleep on anything. Once you get older I think a mattress is worth every penny, better sleep less pain in the morning and during the day. We went with a top of the line sleep number because my wife and I have totally different bed types. It was painful writing the check but it was worth every penny looking back on it. If you are young and single go with whatever is in your budget. They places that build mattresses are great. They have one here in Houston that is similar to the one mentioned before. Good mattresses at good prices.

I second tuft and needle.

Love mine.

I 3rd. My Tuft & Needle is probably one of the best purchases I've ever made.

The one I’m referring to is on Florida near Flannery. You order it and they make it according to your specifications. It’s an old tin building

Not familiar with anyplace on plank. Never heard of it
