Yeah, by all accounts and from everything I've heard, it's a good school I'm just saying, there's probably 20-30 other catholic grammar schools in the state that are basically comparable. And from someone who has experienced much more expensive options, I'm not going to try to tout them as much more superior either. At the end of the day, it's going to be the kid and his or her motivation and abilities that will get them anywhere regardless.

speak for yourself. I went to public, what is considered a very good public....i dont want my kids going there or any public if possible. my younger ones prolly will for sports only but i dont like it.

The kids who are actually exceptional probably aren't sticking around. The things most people are touting like "connections" are things that likely most benefit the average/marginal kids the most.

i mean maybe but lets not act like you cant build an amazing life in NOLA, Lafayette or any of the places listed. Exceptional kids usually dont need the connections though but certainly doesnt hurt.

in Laf.......my kids went to Fatima, but if I had to enroll them at this very moment, I would do Cathedral or Pius. all are good schools though.

Paying for Louisiana private schools is primarily about keeping your kids away from the children of the undesirable residents. A better education is a result of keeping your kids away from the trashy kids.

Ascension Parish public schools.
Test scores from the good AP public schools outrank some of the Baton Rouge private schools. It's a great place to go to public school unless you're on the Donaldsonville side of the river

We live in Baton Rouge and homeschool.
We did the Catholic school thing for many years, and I’d rather take nicer vacations. If you’re going to send home a shite ton of homework that I’m going to have to teach my kids to do - I might as well do it myself.
I grew up going to mostly Catholic school in NOLA, and if we lived there, or even the northshore, I’d probably homeschool, too. Although since there is a better selection of Catholic high schools - I maybe would not homeschool high school.
I wouldn’t live in Shreveport, LC, or Lafayette.

It's an extremely mediocre school that is twice as expensive as all other private all girl high schools in Nola area
I would not call it externally mediocre. It may not be the best in the city (but it’s in the argument) and cheaper than Newman or McGehee. They have girls continually getting into some of the most elite and selective universities in the country. Also you get the Catholic religion that you don’t get with the other schools in their price range.

Imagine living in a state where you cant go to public school... what a waste of money.
You can in areas outside of BR. People just prefer to spend money to get their kids in the right friend group

Sorry you don’t like your kids, that’s your fault anyway.
