I don't want my kids to have blue hair or to get their arse kicked while trying to learn.

I only know about this from posts on here, but aren't some of the catholic/christian schools pretty "woke", or at least produce a lot of woke kids? I think I've read that about Episcopal in BR and a few others.

I've been impressed with the Magnet program. Not only Magnet High, but the magnet programs at Byrd and Capt. Shreve. It's like an isolation chamber from what the kids call "genpop". (If you've been to jail you know the reference)

For sure. If your kid can test into one of the high school magnet programs in Shreveport, it’s a really good option. They are separated from gen pop and don’t have a lot of interaction with them. The ones I’ve heard good things about are Caddo Magnet of course and Byrd.

K-8 has good private/magnet options. Southfield, First Baptist, Eden gardens, St marks, St Joseph, St. John’s, Caddo middle magnet, etc.

Well, yeah. STM and TCHS are both catholic parochial schools and LCA is a non denominational private. LCA's tuition is probably half of the others

Also STM and TCHS are 2 of the better schools in the state while LCA is not

Sorry, but I don’t see anyone from Jesuit sending their boy to holy cross or vice versa

In Baton Rouge, if I went private it would be u-high. My daughter right now is In public (FLAIM) and have zero regrets with my choice. I could afford episcopal with a lot of sacrifice but I consider my ROI going immersion to be the right choice. Free elementary through high school (Baton Rouge High), small classes through middle and zero debt for college.

I thought this with my oldest two. Were in a good elm and went magnet middle through BRHS. Academically the education was great. Socially, the environment polluted their mind. They both came out liberally brainwashed and their decisions/friends haven’t been the best.

My youngest is going private Christian.

It's a pity Christian Brothers in City Park is not what it once was. That school set a lot of kids straight, also a solid feeder school to Jesuit and onwards.

LCA is actually rated #5 best school in Lafayette. TC is #6

This has nothing to do with academics, but how many STM and TC players are on the LSU football team compared to LCA?

Edit: #5 rated best private school.

If you're talking about school locations, Teurlings and LCA are both in equally sketchy parts of town. LCA being right off I-10 on University and Teurlings being 1 mile away from Simcoe.

Shouldn't private schools be in a safer part of town? The few I've looked at in Baton Rouge all seem to be in nice neighborhoods.

That's why TC is ranked at the bottom of private schools in Lafayette. Their location sucks.

If you live on the Northshore (Mandeville) and you live in the Mandeville HS or Fontainebleau HS districts, you are better off sending your children there than St Paul’s or SSA. The level of education is better in those public high schools than St Paul’s or SSA.

I don't know anything about this school other than the location and they had a shitbag of a kid at QB a couple of years ago. I think he is playing at LSU now.

I also don't know anything about WCA.
