Why don't the schools just go to reduced class offerings? Math, English, Science and History only.

They need to teach mechanics, home economics, finance and welding.

Most schools are staggering in-person classes during the week, so only half of the students will be there at any given time.
Leaves plenty of room for all the usual subjects and elective programs.

You assume all the art history major teachers are qualified to teach these classes. They aren't.

There won't be any teaching going on all they're going to do in school is tell the kids Trump is bad.

My sons go to St Pauls, they start tomorrow full tilt. They're staggering class times to limit kids in the hallways etc and spreading desks out as much as possible, but back to school.

Not every child is wired for the core classes. We still need the arts, PE and technical skills to keep kids well rounded, and develop what they are good at.

Amazing how this can happen when the teachers aren’t unionized
