Not saying you shouldn't wash your hands or social distance, but think about those numbers every day when you hear our death numbers from COVID-19.

Imagine if the media did a death ticker for all deaths, how scared we would be to go out of the house. Continue great hygiene, but keep your perspectives in order.

I drink Bang every morning, sometimes after coffee.

I'm not concerned.

For perspective, 98% of the those 7700+ daily deaths were NOT due to a highly contagious disease.

anything looks bad with only 3 weeks of data during a hot point.

let's see how these numbers look averaged for a whole year.

this chart is just stupid fear-mongering since all those other deaths are averaged out for longer time periods.

That's kind of the point. None of the other causes of death have a "hot point".

So its steadily increasing in the daily death rate, slower now, but you want to let everyone go back to normal and see how high it goes when everyone isnt trying to avoid it?

i'm saying we count flu deaths over a year / 365 to arrive at the final figures.

this chart wont look anything like this once you do the same thing for 2020 COVID

How is that a stupid argument? It's not an argument at all. It's just the numbers. Do you not wish to know how many people died each day on average when you are hearing of death counts?

I'm not arguing one way or the other. It is what it is. I would just rather people have a perspective of the ratio as we watch the news and freak out. Do you wish to not know the truth? I see nothing wrong with the other moving chart posted either as long as it's factual. The truth is all I'm worried about.
